Query on Rubber B VulChromatic for Rolex Submariner
« on: May 08, 2015, 02:02:15 PM »
Just like to tap some real life information from users of Rubber B on their Rolex timepieces.

I am an Isofrane convert and generally likes nothing better than to fit Isofrane on my diver watches. However, I really like how the Rubber B fits nicely to cover the gap where the solid end links were. Plus the VulChromatic version has a nice strip of colour to match the Sub bezel, which was pretty cool by my book.

Question was... the Isofrane was relatively affordable at USD99 while the Rubber B costs between USD240 (solid colour) - USD280 (VulChromatic), so how do any current users found these Rubber B straps? Are they soft and comfortable on the wrist, and do they have the vanilla flavour too? If you have any pictures, would appreciate that too. I just don't want to spend USD280 to get the Rubber B strap, only to regret not opting for the Isofrane Nato Green later.

Thanks in advance!  :Cheers:

I have the Daytona Rubber B strap

Very comfy indeed. Big plus is the ability to use the original rolex clasp - best in class in terms of functuionality & comfort.

I have 2 RubberB solid colour - One black and one blue for the obvious reason. A picture speaks a thousand words. But only a word from me - Comfortable

Sorry, forget to add that both of my RubberB straps are the Tank Buckle model and not the one that uses your own original Rolex snap-on buckle. The price of the straps that uses tank buckle comes with a brushed finished stainless steel buckle. If you order the one which uses Rolex snap-on buckle, well, buckle is not included.

I wonder if in comparison to the Everest band, which would be more comfortable?

Anyone with the experience?

I have a very bad maybe horrible experience with Everest Band. I made an order from them last October (2014) and till now, I have not receive the rubber straps and a few tools. I actually wanted to make a comparison between Everest and RubberB but unfortunately, I am unable to.

As of now, they promised to replace my order but I have changed for an alligator C/W S/Steel SEL strap. Still, I have not heard from them yet. I am waiting for them to advise when are they sending the items to me.

All your Rolexes looked great with the Rubber B. For now, I am matching the Sub with a Tudor Nato (which I loved the Tudor shield buckle), but I am going to get the green VulChromatic to match the watch. I dare say that it's gonna looked quite swell matched together.

Waikeekee,

The idea is to get one like yours lah  ;D

I seem to have lucked out with Everest - Received the alligator leather strap for the Daytona recently. Looks prettier than the Rubber B but not as comfortable.

Another alligator strap for the BLNR on the way.

That is a bad experience.  What did they say about the shipment?

Rubber B looks good but Everest does promote themselves well especially for Rolex watches.

cll;

All they say to me via email is to be patience and understanding. Well, what can I do but wait and get on with my life. About USD350.00 hanging in the balance. It's almost 7 months now.

If i am in your position, i would've asked for a full refund....is that even an option?

waikeekee,

Seven months wait is too long, you should have got it even if the delivery man swam to deliver it. Everest has mixed reviews, some good and some bad. I would be very unhappy if it were me.

Could you also show us the tang buckle that comes with RubberB? I think their reuse of the clasp is not well executed. I would be interested if it had a deployant type clasp.

Doesn't make sense and logic to wait so long

Guys, I know it is actually stupid to have waited so long. I do not want a refund because I still want the strap. I have now opted for the Black alligator with the SEL now. I am travelling now, when I get back, I will write to them again.

More pictures for you guys to compare. Pictures were taken on April 28 at Hongqiao Airport and guess what? My flight was canceled. Took the pictures while waiting and passing time

Please take note that my Blue RubberB strap has the exact same S/Steel Tank Buckle as my black strap. Now, this Blue SubC is taken back by my wife and I am left all alone with my PAM Zero and my Black SubC date.

waikeekee, I shuttle quite frequently between BJ and Hongqiao. Do you travel a lot within mainland PRC?

I purchased the blue RubberB with tang buckle from a member here, but have yet to see it in person. Wanna see how it pairs with my polar Explorer2.

Bro deriku;

Since you have an Explorer II Polar, IMHO, I think white will look much better with it. Anyway, it's your choice. I was in Hong Kong May 6-8 and was wondering around used-watch shops in Mongkok area. RubberB Tank Buckle straps are sold at HKD 1,900.00 and the have an array of different colours. Just too bad I only have 2 SubC otherwise I would have bought the Green for The Hulk and the white for the Polar Explorer II. Both of which I do not owned.

By the way, I live in Shanghai and used to live in Beijing. I travel every 2-3 months around China and occasionally visit Hong Kong to visit some of my contractors. That day while in Hong Kong, I bought a Panerai PAM00048 a 40 MM model for my wife. Surprisingly, i found out that the Panerais' sold in Hong Kong are about 10 percent cheaper than in Singapore.

Looks like quite a bit of stress on the rubber around the hole of the tang buckle.

Yes, but when the watch is not worn, it's back to normal. Like they promised, they are using the best processed rubber. Frankly, the quality is really good otherwise the strap will not command such a high price.

I believe I have an Everest band lying around. They have horrible customer service. I do not intend to use it. If anyone wants it for a comparison let me know.

Fong
