Panerai price drop?
« on: February 05, 2015, 10:15:50 AM »
Have recently heard from a few suppliers that price of panerai in Singapore and Hong Kong have dropped 5% due to currency..
Don't know wthr its true or just rumours.
If the price of Panerai drops, it will be possible many other major watch brands will drop their price as well, including Rolex.
"Price increase due to currency" might just be a marketing strategy by swiss watch makers to allow faster sale??
 ??? ???

Well the Swiss franc has risen substantially after their Central Bank allows it to float freely ........ this is fact, read the news on Bloomberg etc.

So if you think prices is gonna drop for Swiss watches, you are entitled to your view rightly or wrongly.  :HammerHead:

Doesn't make sense for it to drop. It's like saying petrol price increase due to drop in crude oil prices. But then again the world economy works in very mysterious ways lol

Could it be due to them wanting to offload the stocks more quickly, hence the additional 5% discount?

I doubt it will go down.. The only possibility is AD give more discount to boost the sale volume but lower profit margin

Probably drop for pre sale since Baselworld coming up. And with new pieces being previewed there it will be much higher anyways. Don't think they'd lose much either
