@fireken, I can help you ask around, if you are still keen to look for a Pelagos. Last I checked 2 weeks back, my AD had one in stock. Generally no discount, but I might be able to help you stretch that if you are confirmed keen.

After long consideration btw Pelagos and black bay.. Finally decided to put the trigger on BB as I feel Pelagos too sporty and too big on my wrist.

BB in action with a traditional mug

Good choice.... It's obviously a personal choice but i do find the BB sings louder to me than the pelagos.....plus, if you pulled the trigger on previous gen pelagos instead, you would have felt a bit disappointed particularly after knowing that the recent launch of pelagos with in house movement with marginal increase in price.... In any case, congrats on ur purchase!

Congratulations Fireken. You made the right decision IMO. The BB looks and feels so much richer than the Pelagos, which is to plain to justify the high price tag for me.

Does anybody know if the Black Bay will be receiving the in-house movement?

Thanks..The new launch in house movement is was surprising and yet interesting.. 70 power reserve and COSC with only slightly increase of price.. However, i think the overtext really kill the watch... i prefer something simple and easy to read dial(personal preference)

Thanks... i struggle a bit there when comparing both but still glad i pull on the BB..
I doubt BB will have the in house movement in the near term unless they choose to redesign the watch next year. That would be interesting.

If Tudor and Rolex are creating their own in-house, what differentiate them? Previously it was movement that separate both Tudor and Rolex, now i don't see much difference...

The blue palagos shall be my next target since it will not clash with my black  sub, expected price? if within 15k is reasonable...

According to hodinkee, the Tudor Pelagos Blue with COSC in house movement is now listed at USD4,400, which is more than RM15,000 under current exchange rate of 3.70. Long wait for it to arrive here, I think!

I think the new pelagos should cost slightly less than rm15k before 6pct gst under the assumption of 6.4% price increase compared to previous pelagos (price in switzerland: new pelagos chf4200; previous pelagos chf3950 so approx 6.4%increase)....us price may not be a good benchmark given its current overvalued form of dollar....

As a matter of fact Rolex introduced their new Cal 3255 at Basedlworld 2015 so I'm guessing they are raising the game for both labels    (those new models don't sing to me though...)

Hi! Newbies here!

I checked out the Tudor Pelagos at [mod : no discount allow to be discussed ]

Is that the best discount in town? Is that any other place offer higher discount on Pelogos?

Thank you!

You could try the few Rolex shops from Pavillion to Lot 10 to Fahrenheit and ask around. Some may give  [mod : no discount allow to be discussed ]  depending on your seriousness. But Pelagos probably not much because hot selling item. Hope it helps

Interesting topic here guys...
I am interested in Pelagos too, love the blue lume, and more the lume on the bezel! Lots of handsome shots i saw online, and impressed about the spec and price point. Also read about the new update of the Tudor in house movement and the future models, including the North Flag and Pelagos, finally decided to make a trip to Rolex boutique to check that out in metal and the in house movement, so below is a few update to share with you guys, if you have not already known...

1. The new in-house movement model North flag will be available from 15 Aug (in my current country of residence, for Malaysia should be more or less), will be retailing at about 14k+ MYR equivalent.
2. As for the Pelagos, they may be launched together with the North flag, at the moment it is retailing at 16k+ MYR equivalent, good news is the new Pelagos will increase fractionally to 17k+ (less than 1k increase), comes in Blue or the original Black, like our forumer has said, it will be COSC certified. Down side, the new dial will look a bit more clutter with extra elaboration, google it online.
3. While talking about the brands, the SA told me the waranty of Rolex will be increased from 2 to 5 years in July, but not sure of the effective date, hopefully there will be no price increase follow through.

Sekian sahaja, terima kasih.

Common guy... ETA movement is robust and easy to maintain... Why so particular on in house movement? U can easily service the watch at third party watch shop compare to those with in house mvnt. But thg changed now since Tudor has introduce their in house mvnt this yr.

I do agree. Probably this is a progression of the brand, and human being always like something new( in house), something extra (eg COSC cert, even the 2824 is as good), well i have to admit im no difference, cheers guys!

In house mvment - a novelty and usually these type of watches tend to have good value over a period of time
