Hello, this is my first Swiss watch after I graduated start entering the working society. Since I was the 90’s generation. Famous Swiss brand among this generation are Tag Heuer, Seiko and Tissot. Hence, I tend to avoid those brand. I had eyeing several watches since few years ago such as the omega speedmaster series, and Tudor heritage series.
About two years ago I was acknowledged about ceramic material in watch making and its benefit of scratch resistance but with the drawback of being brittle. Since then, my wish list left only ceramic watch which are Tudor black shield and Rado hyperchrome xxL. Omega speedmaster dark side of the moon can only be in my dream as it is way too expensive for me.
I admired the high tech ceramic used in watch making and Rado is excellent in ceramic technology. Rado watch is always a bit old classy for my taste. However, the Hyperchrome series in Baselworld 2012 had really drew my attention with its more “younger look” design.
Therefore, I pulled the trigger on the Rado Hyperchrome XXL.
The hyperchrome XXL’s design was based on the Horse series back in 60’s and 70’s, but incorporate the modern Rado technology process of ceramic in mono-block construction instead of sandwich construction. There is nothing proud of the movement inside as it just the automatic ETA 2894-2 with 37 jewels

Able can see the movement through the caseback sapphire crystal with a custom Rado automatic rotor
The deployment buckle is made of titanium for extra durability.
I really like that this watch tend to have 2 different characteristic of colour. When it is under bright light indoor such shopping mall, jewel store, this watch has silvery look (just like the photo of the watch with ice). When it is at outdoor daylight, this watch has black metallic look.
With fully ceramic construction and sapphire crystal. I believe that this watch will shines perfectly for decade. Of course pray for me not to drop it ?.
