Orbital by Element- compliments of Mike and the team
« on: January 05, 2015, 12:24:16 PM »
First of all, feeling grateful that I am the winner of this handsome rugged watch. Here is a simple review as promised:

Presentation of the watch is inline with its price of USD480. It is covered with PVC and engraved logo on it as below:

Opening the box, I was greeted by a black PVD watch with red marking(my choice). There was plastic front and back attached to the watch to protect from scratches. Not that it needed that as both front and rear are protected by sapphire glass

Taking a further look at the bracelet, it has a feeling of quality to it, the front is coated while the sides are glossy

The watch is powered by a Miyota 8215 movement which has the following features:

a)non-hackable
b)21 jewels
c)uni-directional winding(left)
d)power reserve of over 40 hours
e)21600vph
f)date

As seen in photos above, it features a sunburst dial and the hands are not luminous(though it might appear so). Only the single dot on the rotating bezel(12 o'clock position) is luminous. The bezel rotates with a satisfying click and has 90 clicks per round
The crown is a screw in type engraved with logo although this would not be classified as a diver watch with a 100m water resistant rating. Crown protector is one of the interesting design on this watch. It is not a traditional type and lends itself well to the design of the overall watch.Howeverm people with large hands might find it intrusive while trying to adjust the time/date(first picture shows crown in an open state ready for time adjustment). A peek at the engine in the 3rd photo.

Overall, it is a affordable starter watch for anybody going into automatic. The only gripe I have with this watch is the lack of luminosity. So, there you go, my simple review of this watch. Do let me know if you need more information as this is my first ever review.

nice and simple, wondering the screws on top side of the bracelet are fixed or removable?

I believe they are fixed and for decoration purposes. I'll double check when I get my hands on the watch, it's currently with my dad.

Hi Spicediablo,
Glad you're pleased with your gift and happy with the quality. So your dad is wearing it now..haha.
Attached with photo of Luminous and photos of QC and feed back from buyers.
Cheers

My family is running a small watch workshop/manufacturer in Hong kong over 40 years. I started to design a watch with the backup from my parent's workshop this year and create my own brand.

Yes Mike, gave it to him as a gift. Regarding the luminosity, sorry for the wrong info. Will modify my review...

Update: Can't seem to modify my review...><

Apologies for the misinformation. This watch is equipped with luminous hands and markers. Attached below is the proof of it.
