How to keep your watch surrounding dry?
« on: October 17, 2014, 03:17:28 PM »
This may be a silly question but I really like to know where you guys keep your watches? in drawer? in watch box? And how to keep the surrounding dry? Do you use some kind of moisture absorber? If yes, where to purchase?

try google "desiccant malaysia", you will need this especially if your watch is vintage with not water proof anymore. Don't know if you will really need this if your watch is a modern one with good WR. Opinion from other members? And keep away from the blue coloured silicon desiccant... will cause cancer!

i don't think you need to purposely keep it dry.

the humidity won't damage your watch.

if our humidity can damage a watch, then i don't think your iphone or samsung can survive

No need to purposely keep it dry, unless your surroundings are really humid, such as by the seaside. If u really insist, i usually buy the dessicant from Tesco, looks like the Thirsty Hippo.

If you worry, invest a camera drybox with adjustable setting for different purpose.

Put it in a bank's safe deposit box... the constant airconditioning should keep the air dry.

The OP asked about keeping the surrounding air dry, not about getting the watch to wear over weekends.. ;D ;D
