Tudor Pelagos and Tudor Submariner 79090

I recently took some pics of two Tudor dive watches, ie the Pelagos and Submariner 79090.

The Tudor Pelagos is a modern day interpretation of the classic dive watch design as represented by the Tudor Submariner 79090. It is undoubtedly an engineering marvel with many high tech features such as titanium casing, ceramic bezel, helium escape valve and its unique spring loaded self adjusting titanium bracelet. Yet despite all that, I don't find the classic Tudor Submariner any less appealing than its modern brethren, which is probably the main reason that both pieces ended up in my collection.

What do you guys think?

The 79090 is indeed an awesome watch. Looks to be in great condition as well. I think the Pelagos makes a great modern interpretation of the Snowflake of old. Tudor as a brand is rather overshadowed by its elder brother but I think it has been given some space to develop. Great news indeed.

Fully agree with you. The black bay has the makings of a modern classic.

Gee that black bay is really getting me excited. No date will do just fine.the other blue version is pretty nice too.great shots btw

I truly dig the Black Bay burgundy red too. This was the only watch that a previously complete stranger (also a collector) has offered to exchange his week-old BB midnight blue to exchange with my older BB burgundy red. He explained that he bought the midnight blue as it was a more wearable watch, but just couldn't get the burgundy red out of his mind thereafter. I humbly declined. The dial is simply mesmerising and I am still in love with it still. Truly a modern classic!

That's a great wristshot of the Black Bay.
I had the chance to compare the Blue and Burgundy versions side by side earlier this evening and I fully agree with you that the Burgundy Black Bay the better looking one.

Thanks for the kind words, Danny. I had a meeting overseas for a couple of days earlier the week and took my BB with me. On the way home yesterday, guess whom was my fellow neighbour passenger in Biz Class - DSAI. It was the first time that I was seeing him in person, and he was a very polite and conversant individual. My BB was there all the way.
