Hi
I am a new poster to this site, which I have enjoyed viewing as a guest during the last week or so.

I am shortly to receive a Pre-owned Vacheron Constantin OS, purchased via Chrono 24 a couple of days ago. My watch is being shipped from Europe and my "dummy" question is this;

- Will there be any TAX or VAT to pay the customs here in Malaysia?

You pay tax when u make the purchase, when arrived here you shouldn't be taxed anymore.

Ckl - The watch is insured for 120% of its value.
However, let's hope you are wrong.

My wife is Malaysian and both of my children have been born here.

That said, I have lots of mail go missing in the past. So fingers crossed for this delivery.

The parcel should be quite safe, if the seller is using one of the bigger name courier service like FedEx, DHL or UPS.

Your parcel should be fully insured. I had an experience lately where my watch purchase from US shipped by UPS was lost in transit. Complained to seller and claim was issued after couple of weeks.

I also hv a parcel lost by UPS few weeks ago!

Looks like UPS is having insider eyeing for watches!

its handled by FORaSEC, 2 days ago, the person in charge, Stephen said, he is still waiting for his shipping partner to get confirmation / investigation report from UPS

so, still no sign of my rattrapante is coming soon

No tax for small quantity, however if in large numbers, they might harass you, because they see it as for business.
