As per the poll question,

Do you buy watch above your monthly salary / pay? - Present, Past or Future

Or share with us, if you restrict your self to spend within limit?

Off course with savings, one can spent above the salary / pay, but the interesting thing is, do we knowingly or unknowingly limit and not to spend above the earning.

this is why they are classified as 'luxury' items.
if everyone thought about whether they should or should not spend above their salary, no one would own cars or houses :P

that is why savings exist.

That's why you have credit card and personal loan :Laughing_on_floor:

Just buy .... worry later, "if tomorrow comes"

If tomorrow comes, then the crazy credit card statement shall serve as an incentive to push yourself to earn more money.  :Dancing_banana:

I find saving to be a good way to testing whether your target watch is a real 'grail' or just an 'impulse want'. If after a few months of savings and you still want that piece than go for it.

Buying immediately does not give you the luxury of really assessing the true value of the target watch. More often then not, its impulse buying.

Happy hunting!

Haha, funny that you should say this as the timing was such that I just made an impulse purchase last night. Went to collect a couple of pens that I have ordered the day before, and saw a newly-minted Glycine Root Bear in the display case. Since I have been wanting a Root Bear type of watch for a while, quickly took up the piece. Wearing it today and pleased as punch!

But the one that I really would like to have (best to see if the interest persists after some time) is the Rolex D-Blue. If the overseas forum was correct that pricing was only USD300 higher than the standard Black version, that should make it a relatively good buy.

I think spending a month salary or more  to buy a watch is too extravagant.

I believe that the longer you hang around in this forum, the higher your chances of spending more than 1 month salary.
In fact, the question should be how many X your monthly salary.
After all I supposed not a lot of people are drawing more than 15k (for omega buyer), 22k (rolex buyer), 45k (AP/ VC buyers) or 80k (Patek buyer). :)
