Sorry to offend anyone or if its not appropriate but i just dislike this brand to the core and i cant think of any other brand i hate so much...well maybe the Artya "shit" watch  :Laughing_on_floor:

Pics of what i am talking about below....care to guess who they copied?

Invicta have long history of doing just that,

During my early days at the Rolex forum - back in the 2000, the moderators banned its discussion.
Any slight mentioning the words Inxxxta is put in 'cold storage'.

Any this is only general perception and viewed openly by the world forum.

dc
I am almost a recovered watchaholic, but last checked shows only 70% recovered. How?

I think the design looks good but who they copy a? IWC Aquartimer + Rolex?

honestly, if we "look" at Invicta this way, how about homage? Actually, in a lot other forum, they banned discussing homage actually..

OOOooooo... ya ya... looks almost the same except the brand name on dial :)

then again, it's homage to Invicta so those who don't want to pay much for a Bremont can go for Invicta... i'm sure they have their market too ;)

The Bremont finishing is much better, look at the dial and the case polishing...

That is one of the reason I also dun like this brand.  :HammerHead: To many 'homage'. I have the same feeling of this brand with the car brand Hyundai...  :-\ Is the Hyundai Sonata consider a 'homage' of Jaguar? Hahaha.... :Laughing_on_floor:

If u've been to China, you'll see many more 'homage' cars.  :P

On the subject of Invicta, won't they get into trouble for a straight one to one copy? Or the subtle differences between a date and daydate is enough for Invicta to make a defence? Or perhaps Bremont doesn't own the design?

Regarding homage watches, where does one draw the line. I've seen many brands that come out with the U-boat style but they put their own brand on the watch. Homage or rip-off?

Hi guys...

For weeks i have been pondering on this issue, in fact shortly i would like to post a new topic...check it out...

I own two Invicta. Agreed, they lack of originality. They come up with design that has a close think line of stealing ideas of others. In some cases, the only differences would be the brand. But they also make a decent quality watch at reasonable price.

Invicta do lack of identity, At some point I am not sure what would be their direction ?

But then again, I am quite happy with the two i have.

Takashi it is ok if you dont like the brand. I understand your sentiment...but dont hate me ok...hehehhe....

Was at Pavillion the other day @ Red Army. One floor down is Invicta shop...just open abt 1 mnth ago according to salesgirl there. Went 4 look see look see. Price range  :shocked1: case size :Startled: :Startled:

Don't think they carry the full range here. Anyway, don't think I connect with the brand either but thats me. To each his own.

In defence of Invicta, I own some very rare and original high quality watches that include PP, AP and VC, I also am a happy owner of an Invicta. I have had a thorough look over it and I cannot find fault with the workmanship. The watch is a limited edition of 150, individually numbered and 18k solid gold, some of you may not have known that Invicta have made watches like this. It has a modified Valjoux 7750 movement with exhibition back. The watch is 42mm and weighs in at 105gms on a leather strap with 18k Gold clasp.

I'm not here to argue whether Invicta watches are right or wrong as each person is entitled to their own opinion and has differing experiences. As a watch collector, I personally have been very impressed with the model I have irrespective if it draws design clues from other watches.

Some of the great watches - the Audemars Piguet 5402, the Patek Philippe 3700, The Vacheron Constantin 222 and Offshore and the IWC 1832 all take design clues from each other and are still some of the most sought after and expensive mainstream watches in the world.

I'm the owner of Luxurious Magazine® (www.luxuriousmagazine.com) and I love watches. Favourite brands historically are Omega, Patek Philippe, Vacheron Constantin, Girard Perregaux and Breguet. I should also make a special mention to others I have great admiration for: Hermann Grieb, Jochen Benzinger, Georg Bartkowiak, Maximilian Busser and Friends, Morten Linde, Jorn Werdelin and Itay Noy.
