Bremont Wright Flyer - a celebration or a disgrace?

Hodinkee and ablogtowatch are both running an article on Bremont's latest Limited Edition - the Bremont Wright Flyer.
Both editors are generally positive on the watch, selling points include:
(i) Bremont Wright Flyer will contain the company's brand new in-house movement, and
(ii) It also contains an actual piece of muslin from the wing of the Wright Flyer, the world's very first airplane.
For me, I always like the brand and the Wright Flyer sure looks attractive.





HOWEVER, some astute readers soon discover the similarity between the so-called "new in-house movement" with a La Joux-Perret Calibre movement that from there standard range. Number Cal:6901.

While the verdict is yet to be out, for me, I am done with the brand.
I almost pulled a trigger on one of their offering, I am sure glad that I didn't.

Anyone else has been paying attention to Bremont here?

The founder said they're too naïve and overly excited when they announced it as in-house movement. In fact there's a youtube video of him admitting that he doesn't know what "in-house/Manufacture" means...coming from a founder...i'm shocked to hear this. It's clearly trying to cheat unsuspecting consumers and the watch is not cheap!!!

It's the same movement in Arnold & Son's watches but A&S explicitly pointed out in their watch specs that it's a La Joux-Perret Calibre movement. Now this is what I can correct interpretation.

In-house, at least from my point of view, comprises of at least 50% parts produced in-house (and i'm being generous here). In this case, only the bridge was done by Bremont and having Bremont & London engraved all over the place.

The watch is cheesy IMO, and now Bremont looks cheesy too.

I was actually quite keen on some of their products until this incident.
I am now highly disappointed and completely loss interest on the brand.

Definitely a disgrace in my books!  The founder is unsure of the definition of in-house?  You gotta be kidding me!  It is still a disgrace even if he was really that ignorant.
