do you like big watches? you should try it on and decide for yourself.

for me, big watches suit my wrist better.

plus, small sport watches just don't cut it for me... come on! it is a sin  :Laughing_on_floor: :Laughing_on_floor:

i wish the buckle, chrono pusher and the crown is same finish as the casing. these are just my personal preferences.

i also like the numeral are fully formed and not cut off by subdials.

generally iwc chrono models the accuracy is quite alright. i can't say the same for the non-chrono ones.

honestly, some of the iwc watches irritate me when i can't seem to get the minute hand to synchronize with the second hand. i have spoken to some iwc owners and this seems very common. i can only this for all the iwc watches i owned.

maybe you should create a gtg nearby IWC AD and boutique.

Thank you kiamat for the feedback.

Your view points are very helpful.

I don't have a ceramic watch in my collection. On a cursory look...... the ceramic case material look very interesting to me. I like the double chronograph ability of the watch. Do you think this is a sporty watch? I am not sure whether this watch works great with any semi-formal clothing?

I am also contemplating whether I should get the IWC3777 model instead as it look a bit more dressier.

From an investment standpoint..... which one in your opinion would be a better choice.

Cheers

iwc don't fetch a good price in the pre-owned market. so you gotta rule out being an investment. if you want short term investment buy apple stock options cos they plan to split the shares and hold out until right before the new product launch or facebook (retirement portfolio stock)

i used to own a bell & ross ceramic and it fell 4 feet onto hard concrete floor. part of the ceramic casing was chip off. the replacement cost me about ringgit 4k.

some watches ceramic casing are quite bling and i am not sure you will like it or not.

on the contrary, i find that sport watches in formal setting depend on your dressing as well. i have worn sport watches and over-sized watches in formal setting and they don't stick out like a sore thumb. in fact on several occasions they make good conversation topics to break ice with strangers.

i like both of the iwc watches and in the end you are the one who is gonna wear it so go try it on your wrist. most importantly, don't rush your decision-making.

Glossy ceramic too bling to my liking
But scratch resistant is better

Many still find the scratch resistant on matt ceramic
Hv seen the scratches on top gun twice

If rm4k can change a case then it is worth while in my opinion
Rolex charge that for just the ceramic bezel insert
Pam charge 3 times easily for replacing the ceramic case

Ceramic is still highly scratch resistant to everyday use
The top gun scratches I seen was due to dog bite
Dog teeth natural ceramic is sharper in this case

If a drop that can break the ceramic case
Most likely sane drop will dent UR normal at steel case as well

Iwc rattrapante was selling more than 10 yrs
The movement was an add on module by another genius, Habring
A time proven good movement

Iwc still a very good watch brand in my opinion
Genuinely making food watches
They nvr stop improving their watch quality
Certainly not recent yr revive brand, certainly not a fancy fashion brand...

If u like it... No regret! Go grab it

Not the same model but from the same family though, and ceramic.

Thank you all for the wonderful and informative feedback. Sincerely appreciated.

I went to try on the 46mm diameter. It looks like it is a bit big for my wrist. Shop say can order the shorter strap for me.

Is it normal to wear this type of watch with its lug beyond the wrist? Your view?

Cheers

Hey Harry,

Most would say that if the lugs goes beyond the wrist, it may be too big for you.

I've personally tried the ceramic big pilot 48mm,

Evidently, it's taken as a visual offence from the many responses I've received here.

But guess what, it is one of the more comfortable watch I've worn. The ceramic is light, the fabric strap is firm and wrist presence is close to granting the wearer with superpowers. After a while, one will eventually forget about the size.

My advice is as long as you're comfortable with it and you feel good about it, then go ahead. The pilot watches are meant to be worn big anyway.

IMO, any traditional rules about how watches should be worn or whatever size it should be, ought to be thrown out of the window when it comes to pilot watches.

BTW there's a new IWC dbl chrono special edition, which can be ordered if you're quick
http://www.iwc.com/en/news/iwc-patrouille-suisse-jubilee-edition/

not a ceramic, but shot-blast stainless steel (no cracking ceramic problems)

Good luck and we look forward to your wrist shot!
