Next watch for my 36th Birthday
« on: May 27, 2014, 12:00:37 PM »
Checked back the record, last watch I purchased for myself was at 2011 and 2013 did get one for my wife, a thanks gift to her when she gave birth to our son. Also been stopped for years due to allocate budget for house, renovation and getting a SUV for family use.

Ok, long story short, it's time that allow me to get a watch for myself now, been browsing for years, finally narrow down what I want.

1. Moonphase - this feature always stay top of my wishlist.
2. Date - already Get used to check date on my watch.
3. Power reserve - a bonus feature if have
4. Sub second - just personal preference, last watch purchased was big second.
5. Suitable for all occasions. Go well with my formal & casual attire.
6. Last one, a 36mm +/- in diameter for my slim wrist.

With above features listed, what watch meet the requirements?

Lange 1 moonphase should fit all your criteria, and is at 38.5mm not too far from you requirement.

Sorry Patek Philippe 5055 dial too unbalanced.

IWC perpetual calender has all the feature you asked for and more! One of the better value PPC out there.

It looks so good, you'll forget the size of the watch at 44mm... furthermore with current trend now, it's hard to get that size of around 36mm...

Happy 36th!

Rolex is obviously out from your list! ;D But if a "born again" simple classic with dual time meet your tastes, then the WG GMT Pepsi! It costs only the equivalent of a new Honda Accord, if available..

We will be waiting until October to see your wrist shot, and organize a GTG just to 'molest' your age-watch case diameter-matching watch  :Dancing_banana: :Dancing_banana:

I'd suggest AP 15450. Doesn't have a moon phase, though.

36mm watches are hard to come by nowadays..

Mostly PP or the classic models from JLC
Personal taste and preferences evolve over years, hopefully not 1 full circle otherwise it means we haven't learnt a single thing.

Just turned 36 last Monday.
Also managed to pick up my order last week at Rome, Italy.

A 36mm watch with all the requirement listed.

Managed to find a NOS 5054R.

You actually went to Rome to pick up the watch yourself? Why not get it courrier to you?

Not really just purposely go to Rome pick up the watch. Actually the trip was planned earlier.
Went to Venice, Rome and Paris. Since trip is planned so just go to pick up personally and also visit seller shop.
