Funny how we view things, material things, life for that matter. When I was 17, I just wanted to get thru SPM. Now that I am 40, looking back I feel blessed. I was definitely wearing a digital watch. Started working at age 23, wearing a Swatch chronograph purchased on board JAL flying back to overseas after summer break. That watch accompanied me for a long time. Then bought an early Tag F1 watch in 1998. Damn happy. Then a Tag Exclusive 2000, still quartz. Not until 2003, I have my first mechanical Breitling. Then the interest got serious. Room filled up with reading materials on wristwatches. Then came an Oris, Omega, another Omega, IWC, Rolex, another Rolex, then my last watch a simple Panerai. Then all stopped due to work commitments and family. My resources went into properties. Now life pretty stable, financially ok, but I am not going back to watches in as serious manner as I used to. My interest now into buying sneakers. Funny. NB 574s maybe later 576s. I bought 3 pairs last week with only a pair of feet to wear them all. And from driving a VW my interest went into cars too like the Audis and Beemers. I can afford them but saving aside for other more relevant parts in life, family, my kids.
