It doesn't happen because of the type of watch, but the size of the watch.

Should be fine. I wear much larger watches like G-Shocks too.

The size is similar to g shock? I know g shock is a lot thicker

G shock is much much bigger than 42. The one I have, DW6900 should be around 50mm, and it sits fine on my wrist (my wrist is around 7.3")
