My friend who is a watch seller blogger accounted a fake Tissot.  :'(

Me too. I feel worry to buy any Tissot watch now. The model sold widely on eBay & got a good rating also. If my friend don't do the comparison side by side, impossible to recognize the 'fake'. Maybe expert can detect it. If I saw the watch... of course I will tell it authentic. Huhu... :'(  Feel sorry to the people who accidentally bought the fake one. But is it really a fake? Not sure also....

I think the watch can be replica as China is the biggest replica makers in the world. Not impossible they can copy almost the same as the watch is using a quartz movement. Very easy to be done. I also don't think the QC is different between the watch assembled in Swiss or other place. It should be the same. But I also have other though... maybe the watch is authentic. But because of the watch is assembled in China, they might be slight different between other assembly. Example Sandoz Submariner. They are different between the model which assembled in Hong Kong & the one in Singapore. Both of them are authentic watch. The price is also different, as the Singapore model slightly higher price than the HK.

From the info I got from one of the high rating AD, Tissot brand are now assembled in China. They are using all components from China & the components are also made from the China's materials. For what? Of course to reduce the cost.

Now I'm confius....   :Confused:  Hahaha....

This topic has been widely covered in the Tissot forum at WUS. Majority of the Tissot sellers from HK/China are selling "OEM" Tissots. They don't call it replica or fake. They call it OEM but it's the same thing. :thumbsdown:

I emailed a HK seller on what is OEM. Bits of his reply says

- made in my company
- it's very same to the original match,very same to quality and shows
- don't worry,it has the one year guarantee.
- if it has problem in 1year can send back to me for repair or refund
- it only cost u xxx (the price was below 130USD)

How much does an authentic PRC200 cost? Warning sign no. 1
The case back photo also showed that it had the clear sticker with the red line and serial numbers.

OEM is by definition is original but just that it is sold by another party. Probably, another brand but everything in it is as original as the Original. However, based on the reply from the HK seller, it is fake IMO.

Psychologically from the selller answer, he tried to cover up something... & he already answered the question that he try to running away..... it is fake  :police:.  :Laughing_on_floor: Hahaha...

AFAIK if a product is swiss made,then it must adhere to the swiss made criteria .i think you have gotten wrong info from the AD or kena kelentong or something.i understand that materials are from china,but it must adhere to the swiss made criteria +the 50% rule.u can see mondaine got stripped off the title swiss made on their watches due to not adhering to the standards

Sad really to see this happening. But like an acquaintance of mine who has a factory in China said, 9 to 5 the factory makes the original, 9 to 5 at night, they make the 'OEM'. Same machines, same materials. Sigh!

to qualify as Swiss made, watches must b assembled in Swiss by Swiss watchmaker

so no oem for Swiss made watches, Only got oem part

fake tissot from HK/china sellers are widely available on ebay..its a fake..i even saw a prc200 at sg wang plaza..looks legit but its fake..china can reproduce almost everything..but the quality is not there..compared to the gen,in the flesh its a bit 'rough' in terms of finishing ..

it is not surprising that these comes up alot.

there are rumours that alot of watch cases are made/milled in China. I would not be surprised to if hands, dials are made there too.

to cut cost maybe paints and lumes of lesser quality is used for fakes? but who knows underneath it may just be the same thing as the real deal.

Stowa, Laco and etc.. source their cases from China I heard. I may be wrong though

Haha, recently encountered this, friend bought from ebay.com.sg
seller is a China man !
say is a student studying in sg.

the package comes with
a) Box - looks DAMN fake
b) Booklet - Color lari already - photocopy also look nicer
c) Watch - very well-built, I believe they use the original movement as the guy dared us to ask AD to check it
d) strap - fake leather and smells of stinky plastic like RM5 shop/HotMarket.

However, the guy did refunded minus some shipping charges.

if they use a metal strap, if would be harder to distinguish. and sold it without the box, certificates and booklet.
