The sunburst dial was a surprise as is the polishing on the watch case itself. Lume is not strong but nice. Timekeeping is remarkably good so far. Need to find a better strap though.

Ooh, I quite like that.  Reminds me of the Seiko SNK805, except the brushed / polished case is a bit more interesting than the blasted SNK case.  It's no IWC but on a decent strap it will surely be a decent watch.

Looks nice, mate. I rather like it. I just got an Orient M-Force from Japan; but the excitement was more from the anticipation than the actual arrival. Orient makes nice, dependable pieces, IMHO.

Would look good on a nato strap eh?

The case polishing is indeed nice. I don't have a good macro lens but the side of the case has vertical polish lines instead of horizontal along the case.

Maybe he was talking about the IWC Sidérale Scafusia?   :Dancing_banana: :Dancing_banana:

Joke aside. Still a handsome aviator-styled watch from a great manufacturer! Expensive or not, it's not important!

Yah man... on a sobering day, the logical choice is such value for money Japanese watch... but consumerism gets to everyone.. almost.

Donald, when you mentioned about wearing Orient for security reasons yesterday... I thot you were just joking...  :P

The lume is also quite good and very fitting for dark spots like where we had our beers last night. Very glad to meet you.

very interesting comparison by Orient USA:
http://www.orientalwatchsite.com/the-iwc-mark-xvii-vs-the-orient-flight-fer2a003b/

In fact, I stopped at an outlet in Changi to see and handle an IWC Spitfire. It was really nice with a wonderful clasp. That was about it. Still no heartbeat skipping with IWC.
