Anyone insured their watches?
« on: June 30, 2010, 08:56:55 AM »
Hi all,

Im still new on the watch collection thingy. So please bear with me on my limited knowledge on insurance.

I checked the forum and notice that insurance for watches, jewelleries (personal effect?) are not discussed b4.

Hence, I would like to initiate discussion about coverage of insurance locally.

Let me get the ball rolling:

Questions:
1) Any insurance company cover these type of items whether the watches are
inside your house (erm... i hv notice some insurance will not cover this under all risk or fire)
safe deposit box (erm... max RM10k, how it increase insured value?)
while wearing it outside? (erm... no idea

Replies appreciated

Hi CK,

Tx for the link. Now i know why did not find it... It was 1 year + ago

From that post, i think that the discussion was not elaborated in terms of coverage, insurance company etc. But it is a good short discussion otherwise.

I ve no idea on how this the insurance will work and I would not want ppl to barge into my house to see all personal effects. Do not trust visitation of agent nowadays  :(

Any idea which insurance company is providing this coverage? If items needed to be appraised, I would prefer the agent to come to the bank... ie safedeposit box centre to assist in the appraisal...

Btw CK, if you could pm me your contact for your insurance... greatly appreciated :)

Tx

I remember we had this thread and some new news came up.

Wonder whether some of you had problems with this issue?

Met some MWF members and they pointed me to an independent security box which i had no clue about till then.

Suddenly i saw this article and thought about all of you guys and where you going to store and insure your watch.
