Kopassus 78... CONGRATS Poison has gotten into your system.  :Laughing_on_floor:

Personally it depends what you want and where you want to use your future POISON...

I will go with a Panerai Luminor or a Hublot if the people who hangs around the places
you frequent knows watches. But if not, I will go for another Rolex Sub or Explorer II
where the ROLEX "Crown"/ Brand will do the advertising for you.

Just to share my personal experience which happened a few years back, I wore my Panerai
PAM 159 to our local kopitiam. The Kopitiam Towkay a ROLEX Datejust owner told me.
Haiya Jimmy.. why wear cheap watch, no class one. Wear ROLEX lah..  :Blue:

I just kept quiet and feels like... :HammerHead: him. But I didnt and wears my watches
suited to the place and occassion.

I am sure if one wears a GS to the Kopitiam, the Towkay will say the same thing too.

This is my 2 sens worth.

Jimmy Wong

hahahahahaa yeaaa I can see that happening too lol only a real watch aficionado would really take notice on a 'expensive' watch other than a rolex. "oh rolex ah?" "nah it's a Patek" "oh, why not get rolex it's better". (friend's actual experience)

you get the picture  ;D

I do agreed with Jimmy on his comment. If impressing the masses is your main goal maybe a Rolex might suit the task, if not then the latter is fine.

Most important factor is whether it talks to you. "you are the key to your own happiness"

Cheers

I guess the sub and FM sings to me louder the current hublot that I'm eyeing since the BB is only 38mm. Very subtle and discreet ah :D

Rolex is well known brand, so the perceived value is high for most people not into watches.

rolex is a well built brand, evergreen looking, robust for everyday wearing.

but we do need a watch for some shout right? are we going to wear just rolex everyday till we die?

so its always good to have a non rolex watch, evergreen design also mean BORING DESIGN.

Frank Muller is a brand where design is no. 1 to most, celebrities favorite.... from hollywood to bolywood....
thats also how ppl perceived FM till now
but what you may not know are
when come to packaging, FM is among best of the best! the box, cert cover.... everything bes material.
when come to watch finishing is also among the best! watch case, crystal, crown, movement finishing, straps....

Hublot is another brand growthing exactly like FM, from artist to football manager to malaysia politician (rich ruling party only)
FM famous with this crazy color dial and cintree cruvex case (tonneau) case
hublot started with fusion in mind, mixing non mixable material... but now the big sporty case line are dominating!

as i always say, buy the one you feel good looking on your wrist. not buying what other ppl like !

thaank you!! lmao on the politician part because it's true  :D :D :D

Watches are very personal things. While it's nice and natural to want to hear opinions about the next purchase, in the end, it's what you like that matters. It would be a mistake to buy and wear a watch with the main purpose of impressing others.

Since you (OP) are so young, you should try various brands, and not end up with the feeling of not having your best-liked watch that you never had!

thank you! My aim of asking this was since I have no idea how FM / Hublot are compared to rolexes. As in the brand level, particularly compared to the models that I've mentioned. Just trying to get my ass schooled for a bit of knowledge  ;D

haha  :Laughing_on_floor: typical.

most Towkay I know only know about Rolex and thinks that its the best lol. They also wear two tone rolex datejust. it is like the standard business men watch.

Towkay are businessman, businessman always think of profit not loss. When they pick up a Rolex they have calculated whats the coming loss. They have also calculated what if situation when they need cash.

Basically a Rolex is more of a commodity to businessman. They can trade them besides impressing their partners.

We have gold stock exchange, oil palm, cocoa etc exchange. I think we have a exchange for Rolex but its not a real exchange. So Rolex to the businessman is like a readily cash commodity.

What I mentioned above is about the general Towkay mentality and of course they are businessman who admire the craft of watches.

So what are you? An artist or a businessman?

I guess my main aim is just trying to impress whenever I wear it :D

AP is cooler!

I know :( AP is my top goal in the next 10 years maybe when my budget is bigger...or when I'm a politician  :P

Kopassus 78

In 10 years, your fancy will be different. I think AP wont be good enough... Maybe PP or AL will do... :Laughing_on_floor:

Hi There,

Congrads on the new watch.

it really comes down to what suit you best....

Rolex Submariner is a good daily wear piece so should be a good item to add on to a collection...

Franck Muller Conquistador on the other hand, i will say is like a Durian Lover, is an Exquisite Taste...but if you are a modern/contemporary watch lover, then i think it should do just fine...

Hublot BB is quite an unique piece, depends on what material you are getting, but i personally think the rose gold version is a classy one. In general, I always see Hublot as a fashion watch than a Swiss collector watch. (maybe because is owned by LV)

Time is Money
Owned:
- Patek Philippe - Complication 5146 Annual Calendar Moon phase
- Vacheron Constantin - Overseas Dual Time
- Blancpain -  Grand Complication Leman Chronograph Perpetual Calendar
- Rolex - Cosmograph Daytona
- TAG Heuer - LINK Automatic Chronograph
- Girard-Perregaux - Traveller World Time Chronopgraph
- Maurice Lacroix - Masterpiece Phase de Lune
