ohhh by that i meant polishing as in removing ingrained muck, haze or smudges by using alcohol cleaner on the brushed areas..
I do use Brasso or silvo on the polished steel surfaces though

Quote
maybe it looks good because I aredy polish and clean up the watch after buying it...
Ok Jos, thanks, looking at your statement I thought you did the polish yourself, the brushed area really looks as good as new! :=)
Thanks JeepWH for the upcoming sharing, very much looking fwd to it

dear Sir,
Your collection of all kinds of antiques as in cars, watches is very impressive..
I wonder if you are related to the Chang family that used to own the supermarket above Chowrasta (I 've even forgotten the name) and stayed at Green Lane area (was it Pinhorn or the next road, off Green Lane) That was my lower secondary school mate.

Thanks for your remarks on the Mk 4.5. I was plain lucky to come across it locally. There are a number of excellent Mk II, Mk 3 and Mk 4.5 from overseas but I'm not an experienced online buyer..

Great looking watch, my favourite shape. Lucky you!

Hi JOS,
I grew up in Ipoh. Went to Uni in Pantai Valley in 1966. Had been working in KL since 1971. Retired 1 year ago, to enjoy driving  my classic cars , playing golf and to appreciate my collection of old watches. Passed some more modern watches to my two sons, who have their own collections. Now only left with a few vintage watches. Collected some old watch making tools in Australia and bought some books on watch repairs. Never got to do any repairs, too complicated. Considered going into watch repair apprenticeship! Regards. H. Chang

Jos, what do you think of this? Reintroduction of the 1969 MarkII... It meets all my criteria of Auto with 52 hr PR, Date, Sapphire crystal, 100M WR... Just that the size is fractional 0.4mm above my criteria of 42mm... ;-)

hi Ek lex,

If you read my 1st post of this thread... at the end of my post I mentioned...

"I really am getting old as I'm starting to really like the older watch designs from 70s-80s much more than the current ones..
Next is the Mk II Speedmaster"

The Mk II is definitely on my list..either the original 1969 vintage or the re-issue however the re-issue is bound  to cost a heck lot more..
Let's do a bulk buy of the re-issue..

Hi Jos,
When I spoke to the sales, they were not even aware of the model, obviously they are not enthusiast, not to mention their passion on their brand and their product... I have browsed their catalog including their Omega Bible, not even listed, I'm not sure why, is that some sort of a limited edition or only for Swiss sale?

Yup, Jos, I'm UAE based.

Found a link for the Mark II... quite a lot of spec and info on the watch, probably it's not available yet in the market...

Ek lex

Was told that the Mk II is already in the Omega boutique KL.
Going to check it out tomorrow.

Its already available in several countries although its supposed to be featured in the coming March Basel.
No this is not a limited nor boutique only model. Its regular production.
