Visited Seiko Museum during my recent trip.
This was located in a small town, 2 trains away from Tokyo.
Obviously the cost of real estate has something to do with it.

Weather is much nicer 12 degrees, so no need to be all wrapped up.

Entire tour took abt 2.5 hours.
Unable to post all the pics as my photo bucket account is quite full already, therefore only selected pics are posted
Commentaries will be updated gradually as its time consuming..

Akizawa-san, the Senior Manager in charge of the museum and an English translator…his English was quite good enough actually except for some technical terms..

Their timepieces submitted for the 1967 Neuchatel Observatory Chronometry Competition where they won several top prizes in chronometry ( I forgot but we are talking abt top 3), kicking some serious Swiss ass…(Dun believe me.. ask uncle google)
They were not allowed to participate shortly after with the Swiss giving some lame excuse that participants must be Swiss companies.. sore losers, the Swiss…..

Seiko's Space Walk Spring Drive specially commissioned by Richard Garret to custom build for his space walk…
If you are willing to cough out USD 30K, you can have 1 custom assembled for you as all 30 re-issue pieces are already all sold out long ago..

Futuristic ideas and prototypes currently developed. We may see the real thing soon..

Timing equipment used at various Olympics where Seiko timing is used.
One of the them is where they explained how timing is done for swimming. I was asked to touch the board and try to achieve a certain set time of 9.xxx.
Nostalgic as I used to swim competitively… :)

I was off by .0x secs. >:(

Limited pieces of GS, Credor, Galante displayed at the small Seiko shop at the lobby before the museum. Pieces are for sale.

Joseph , how is the finishing of the Galante, never see this in metal before, their price are very close or more expensive to some of the Grand Seiko model.

The finishing is really sparkling but honestly the design and sparkle is too bling for me.
It would suit movie stars and fashion ppl to a tee.
