i had the pleasure to be up close with their moondust and titanic dna ranges and have to admit
i was really impressed with the aesthetics & the historical background of the watches particularly the materials used.
it may be a gimmick to some but if u think further u're actually wearing a piece of history.
prices are steep, in the range of 20-30k if not mistaken.

yay or nay? and why?

Well if u GENUINELY like the watch and design and history and going to keep for many years to come  then why not. Most important u are happy with your purcahses 

If u wanna buy then flip flip then too bad lah, used price going to make u keep it instead

I think their stuff are quite unique in the sense they use titanic hull to make part of the case or stuff from space program onto the watch. Their design are not my cup of tea but they are unique for sure which some ppl wouldn't hesitate to buy to get piece of history.

Nay for me. watch material is not part of my collection philosophy

For watch collection, I would say Yay! and will keep them as antique.

But the song 'my heart will go on' and 'fly me to the moon' will keep playing in my brain every time I wear them

They are big but wear comfortably around the wrist
Maybe some ppl pantang the idea of wearing a sunken ship on the wrist haha

hmm i thought they used the steel from the shipyard that made the Titanic, so it is the same material as the titanic, would anyone actually go down in the deep sea to cut off so many pieces of metal from Titanic just to make a watch?

Apparently not from the shipyard but an appointed surveyor from the actual shipwreck.
They have a cert proving that along with the watch.

Beautifully made, and some of the themes appeal, but too huge and way too expensive.

Human taste change
Steel wasn't lasting, hence  human chasing precious metal like gold and platinum for their watches

When stainless steel invented... PP, AP, Rolex... All into it, gd daily wear watch. Pp selling it more expensive than gold! I don't understand it either

Then out of sudden we all into era of new tech new material, lighter, stronger...
Titanium - ceramic - carbon fiber ....

But human nvr stop changing, so as their taste...

Now Ppl wearing brass, bronze and silver ...  And appreciating the patina...

So y nota rusted steel with real history !

Sorry it's big nay for me  . If I am paying RM 20k-30k I'd go Rolex. If I am paying US 20k+ I'd go PP.

btw i dont think RJ can be compared to Rolex as i believed they are positioned
for collectors who have already owned Rolex/s. if saying im a first time buyer
of either brand of coz i would go for the Rolex. but if i've already owned several
Rolexes i might be enticed to consider the RJ or something similar just to have
a change in taste. everyone is wearing a Rolex or Panerai these days, its no longer
unique in my opinion.

Problem is, you are paying a huge premium for the rusted steel of a cruise liner that sank and killed thousands of people.  There is also no historical connection between RJ and the Titanic.  I see this as nothing more than a marketing gimmick... But that is just my opinion.

Rusted steel from the most famous sunken ship is considered type of 'precious metal' to some I believed, thus the price

which brand hv the highest marketing spending? ROLEX
so no marketing = no brand
how to market? some put up ad everywhere, some sponsor artist, some sponsor expedition, some sponsor writer, some organize party, some buy back high price in auction, some....

but what to be put in the ad? who to sponsor? who can be a brand ambassador?
its all depend on brand story.... for RJ, its about DNA
