Brief encounter with Le Petite Prince's Mark XVII
« on: November 12, 2013, 09:03:40 AM »
Just a very brief encounter probably 10 minutes with the latest LPP Mark XVII at IWC Boutique in Hong Kong International Airport

The blue dial is so nice......

And a chance to try on my friend's Da Vincci over a coffee chat

With the special seconds hand and unique etched case-back, how much more ($) was it from the basic IWC Pilot’s Watch Mark XVII?

I am in no mean to offend anyone, but sorry I may not want to discuss the price here merely because someone will come in n say he or she can get cheaper that kind of crap, or they know who n who can get this n that, the watch is merely for my wife because I promised her to get her something special so its beyond the dollar n cents as we had gone thru a lot for the last 2 years.

A lot of things is better to be appreciated without the dollar sign, its the love and appreciation of something is more important.

Technically the watch is not mine, I just go to HKIA pay and someone from IWC will deliver it to my wife as a special surprise.

But one little thing that I am not very happy with IWC is that, in US the same watch package will include a 70th anniversary LPP storybook n CD but over here in APAC there's none. If someone bought it with the same package as US in APAC region please let me know, I will make some noise.

Thank you for all who appreciate my sharing

You confirm some chatter I've heard about this non-completeness of the package, hence the reason for the question about the $. Best for you to make noise with IWC international (main HQ). The extra premium you pay should be inclusive of the story book and CD in a nice package. Otherwise they may just put it in a standard IWC Pilot’s Watch Mark XVII

Well thanks for the heads up will wrote to IWC on this matter but the premium for LPP Edition is much more then the book and CD if you care to study it carefully.

Wrote an email to IWC pertaining the "deluxe gift set" of 70th Anniversary LPP hardcover storybook and CD, below is the reply:

Dear Mr. Ng,

Thank you for taking the time to contact us.

We are sorry to hear of your disappointment and would like to thank you for giving us the opportunity to restore your faith in IWC Schaffhausen.

Following your request, we have been looking with utmost attention into your case and have contacted our related department. Please kindly note that each country may propose various offers, therefore we regret to inform you that in Asia our Pilot’s Watch Mark XVII Edition “Le Petit Prince” IW326506 does not come with "The Little Prince" story book.

We deeply appreciate your valuable comments.

We remain at your disposal for any further information you may require.

Yours sincerely,

My affair with IWC is over, this is a deliberate discrimination between customers of different region.
