I had one before.. for the money, the watch is well made, and the ETA movement functioned within COSC standards even though it was not of the highest grade. But the nearest AD is in Singapore, if the watch needs service.  >:(

steinhart is a brand that for some models you really need to try them on first, and not be swayed by the hype over it - as they can look good in pictures, but not feel that comfortable on the wrist.

if it needs service, small matter only since can be done here.

I had the Vintage Military , So far so good.

For the price you pay, i suppose it's a good buy.

I too had the OVM, sold it off after a few months cos it got irritating to wear, replaced it with a seiko sumo... much better.

nothing to do with nickel, it was just uncomfortable even though its still solidly made.
lug to lug of 50mm with a pretty flat case meant the lugs overhanged the wrist on either side even on my 7.25" wrists.
the big-ish crown also meant it poked into the wrist, even though it was worn on my right.
22mm lugs also meant a pretty wide and heavy bracelet that takes its own sweet time tapering to 20mm at the clasp.

I'm not on the bracelet since day one, maybe due to this i never had your problem, it's on leather nato all the time.

I had it on a nato, but it just felt weird and unbalanced due to the flat lugs.
imo, its still pretty over hyped, unless of cos u just want a rolex lookalike and have a very flat wrist at least 7".

Solid build. Value for money. No resale though if you are asking in regards to brand name. Not well known in Malaysia yet.

resale is there if you get the hype model, at most lose 10-15% of purchase price only.

Yes. I have a steinhart ocean 1 black, a homage to submariner.
I bought it last December, it is a robust watch and I love it for the first few months.
But few months after, I started to lust for the real one and now planning to get the real stuff (partly attributable to mwf, where poison can be very strong)
;)

I have the Ocean Gmt with ceramic bezel inlay, it comes with 22mm bracelet which looks too thick on my wrist, I have replaced it with a 22mm tapered to 18mm (at buckle) leather straps, very happy with it, looks good feels good now! Love the 42mm case as well, I think the trend now is inch-ing up!  ;D Of course, this will last for a while until I have accumulated enough for the "Real GMT" Watch!

Steinhart...remind me of my first review that I did for this forum couple of years back. It is better you try it on personally and not base on the photo only. Happy hunting.....

A mate bought one of the OVMs a while back, the one with the acrylic crystal.  It was nicely made, no real problems with quality (average lume IIRC), but the lugs are really weird.  They sort of just stick straight out, no curvature.  Definitely try before you buy, or buy use so when you flip you don't get burned.

I too had one Ocean Black but sitting in the watch box for some time. Seriously speaking the quality is for that money. You can't ask for more.
