I've been told by many that I'm a v greedy person.. ;D :mooning:
I want both quantity and quality... :o ::Laughing_on_floor:

Anyway I think the range is too broad.. 2-10?
I'd suggest 1-5, 5-10, 10-20,20-30,30-50,>50 (these are the rare ones but they exist even in mwf)

Having said the above..quality is very subjective.. in terms of quality of the movement? the casing? the brand? the popularity or current in-thing? the cost as in 5 or 6 figures?
some think Hublot is higher quality vs Grand Seiko,
some think owning a Rollie is the epitome
some think that anything other than the trinity+ ALS+ AHCI is not a grail...
some think Grisogono or Jacob & Co or Cvstos is good taste
who is to judge and what is the accepted measurement?

BTW I don't think a WIS is judged by how many pieces he/she owns, how much each piece costs or even how much he/she knows abt watches or horology..  it's the passion inside him/her regarding horology and timepieces and the thirst to know more...

e.g. even a person owning a single PP/ALS/AHCI or any grail watch may or may not be a WIS..
If it was given to him and he knows nothing abt it, then he is no WIS
If he saved or upgraded his watches to that single grail, devouring, accumulating all info on it, then he is a WIS.. no worse or better than another WIS with 100 watches of varying costs but loving each and every one.

Personal taste and preferences evolve over years, hopefully not 1 full circle otherwise it means we haven't learnt a single thing.

Like my friend once told me... doesn't matter... what matter most is "syok sendiri"
Terrenceterrence "seriously, i think buying a watch for it's secondhand value is like getting married and thinking about divorce at the back of your mind."

Agree the range is too broad, and a WIS is not defined merely by the number of watches a person has. 2 mid-end Richard Mille is worth more than 10 SS Rolexes, for eg. Cheers for the coming weekend!

i don't literally mean a "WIS" as per se but just for fun's sake.
and the numbers of watches (not dwelling into quality or price range) of how it was ranged is just for fun as well.

:Dancing_banana:

we can have another poll of the total value of your money invested/or wasted in timepieces ....
and that might be even a bigger eye-opener (for myself at least)

Good Quality or not is relative
More in quantity also relative

Most important is know how to appreciate watches if u love watches

Don't think many will reply to that...

The last thing we need is for the wife to pop in here and find out in black n white what we did.

Anyway, just to join the polls, I voted and sadly, I'm in the "2-10 - I'm a beginner and so is my bank account." group.

Not really a WIS after all then...
