What do u think IWC vs Panerai?

This topic is so general... IWC and Panerai are so unalike. Are you asking their for Brand Names or their Designs.

Brand Name : I will choose IWC.
Design Wise : I will also bias towards IWC.

Bear in mind, I am STILL not a Panerai fan... (Mind the capital letters).

I like both. Find me a watch which looks like a Panerai? As for IWC, they are hardy, well thought out, I would say IWC watches are very practical and they looked good too. Both have their in-house movts and both have ETAs. Of course IWC has Kurt Klaus as its technical know-how. Back to Panerai, wouldnt u fall in love with either the Radiomir or the crown guard? Strap one on and u will feel very mucho about yourself but not on skinny wrist tho.

i own neither.
but working hard to own my first iwc.
iwc should come first, as their watch engine is far superior than a lot of others.
iwc is also famous for a lot of their design, like the "father and son" as well as "portugese".
personally, i would highly recommend iwc.

They are two very different types of watches. I would suggest going to the shops and trying them both out. I love the PAM 292 Ceramic. I tried it on, and it somehow was not a fit that I would call, comfortable...Don't get me wrong, I still love it and think that it still is a very very nice looking watch. Maybe because of my small 6 1/2 inch wrist.

I had previously owned an IWC 3706 which I loved and regret selling, but then the 3717 came along with a way sexier bracelet and a bigger 42mm case. So this I have kept for the last 7 years. Be it with a leather or the steel bracelet, this watch is comfortable to wear. Aesthetically, it suited my wrist a lot more than the 45mm PAM.

I would say, go try them out, take some wrist shots...go home, compare and see which one sings to you more. Both watches have good history and good movement. While the IWC is more "versatile" in terms of wearing a suit, or in jeans or just shorts and slippers. The PAM is...IMHO just a little to big to wear with a suit. But the ultimate choice is, which looks better on you and feel more comfortable wearing. Good luck and please post some pictures up when you decide which is for you.

very difficult to compare 2 brand names, especially these 2. 
Easier if you list down your specific needs for a watch, budget or perhaps even a certain model from either Pam/IWC that attracts you...

I was caught in the same dilemma, but eventually decided on IWC. It's more versatile and many range of models and types to dwell on. In the same time, I can't stop starring at a PAM every time I walked pass a boutique. 

Both are great, have fun choosing!

Tough call actually..Though agreed with most of the comments above.Agree that IWC has more "diversified" choices (Portuguese,Ingenieur, Pilot etc) compare to PAM..I own both too..but for PAM I stick to the base model only (005 & 292)..Still, my sincere advise to you is choose the one that sing to you the loudest..It's u that gonna wear it all along after all...
