House got robbed, and lost my watch...
« on: August 13, 2013, 10:25:18 AM »
Hello everyone, I just discover this hang out place for all watch lovers in Malaysia!

As in the topic, my house got robbed two months ago, and I have been looking to get back my watch of the same make.
It was a wedding gift from my dad, it has a certain sentimental value. Alas, the police weren't able to recover anything even though there is some obvious thumb print collected.

But, if I can't get back my stolen watch, I guess I can make do with a watch of the same model.

So... fellow forum members, I'm seeking some help and advice on where to find a discontinued Omega 3513.50 watch. I tried timeseries, they had it, but was sold, so I guess I'll just have to be patient enough and wait for another one to come along...

In the mean time, any advice is welcome!

That's a bummer.......feel for you. Do check out the sales section, both merchants and members' preowned.

Ouch.
Feel for you bro.
If you still have the paperwork on the watches, maybe you would like to make a report with the watch manufacturers.
The watch could end up with them for service and it might raise some flags if a report is made.
Good luck.

Thanks! Will be checking out on the sales sub-forum.
Good suggestion on reporting to watch manufacturer service center! I'll do that!

I am sorry to hear this. My house was burglared before and my watch was taken amongst other items. Just like your case, nothing was recovered. I hope you will find  a worthy replacement soon. Most importantly, please look for ways to secure your house.

Sorry for your loss bro.

Sadly, the occurence of break ins dont seem to be slowing down and on the other hand seem to be rising with each passing day!
Look around on the market and I'm pretty sure the model that you are looking for will pop up sooner or later!

Any suggestions on the counter measures?

Will you hide your Rolex diver watches in toilet bowl water tank?
Just like those people hiding their diamonds in fridge ice-cube container.

That gonna piss the robber if they found out
Small thief is good in digging every hole
They r professional

If can, find a house with good security
Or don't keep so many at home
Open a safe at bank

Buy insurance
N keep yr watch n purchase paper separately

For theft b burglar yes
U determine insure sum base on ur watch & other valuable worth...

That's y I said u need to keep ur receipt of purchase n boxes separately
To proof to adjuster that what u owned
U need to update a list
Add in what ever new purchase

I owned few safe
They made by
Falcon
Alpha

But the mechanical lock is made in China and uk
The U.K. Made is definitely feel smoother n better quality
But both work the same

I'm not sure about other brand
Never try

Good safe is
Thick
Heavy
Can't be open by force

Most are above to mount on wall or on ground

I think there's safe rental nowadays. I've came across 300 per year for a high quality safe
