Papers
« on: January 15, 2012, 12:32:25 PM »
Just want to ask around. Sometimes we misplace and lose the original papers, cert, card etc for our watch. Is there anyway that we can get these reissued by the company if it were lost? Or is it a case of what's gone is gone? Thanks for any feedbacks.

i don't think u can reissue papers for rolex, panerai, patek and etc.
as in you cannot get the original papers which came with the box set.

for rolex, RSC issues you a receipt which says it's authentic. for panerai, they stopped doing such things and only upon service would they issue u a receipt. patek has a version called extracts from their archives.

however, u can get a replacement of something similar which says its authentic from the authorised service centre.
typically it would also be free if u perform a service with them.

Not sure if they still do it, but Rolex, Omega and Panerai use to re-issue some, but not all the documents, but at a price.

the watch in question is a patek philippe. Was asked by a friend since he misplaced his papers. How do we go about acquiring the documents?

This one, very difficult as I have yet to own one. Best to ask the boutique or perhaps write to them? I think they can perhaps give you an extract from their files.

agreed with dsiew, they wont issue you original cert anymore. they will only issue you a receipt or a paper just to certified your watch is original with serial no stated on the paper and that also cost you a bomb

I believe that you can get the archive extract for the fee of CHF100. Need to communicate with patek geneva..

For Panerai, they are able to reissue the COSC cert but not the original warranty card.
but there is a price to pay.

cheers,

I think original is hard to get...

maybe just send it back to the their Service center to do some service and get back the warranty card/paper to prove its authenticity...

for panerai, there're 3 things considered in "papers"
manual and warranty book - can purchase if u want
warranty card - irreplaceable
cosc - replaceable after doing a full service, can request for cosc, but takes a month or two.

If your friend legitimately owned the piece, surely he had registered with Patek Geneva. Patek Geneva will be more than happy to acknowledge his registration on the said date, especially so if he happened to own a few pieces of the grand complication one! :) An Archive Extract merely tell you the type of watch in question, movement calibre & etc., without mentioning of the owner's name. :Laughing_on_floor:
