Dual time zone, annual calendar and month displayed at each hour by indicator.

For now...its UGLY !

Might change my mind as time goes by.

Interesting. I remember reading in a different forum how all the excitement will die down once the watch is displayed and how everyone will 'bitch' how 'fugly' the watch is. Well .........

I reckon compared to this, a day date or turn-o-graph is much better....

Any pics of this actually being called the Sky Dweller?

I prefere the regular datejust than this fancy dial.

All i can compliment this skydweller is the size of the watch. Its quite big i assume from the picture.

And YEAH .. we have another SD ( Sky Dweller )

HAs a new movement though and the bezel is used to adjust the time?
Title: Re: Rolex Sky Dweller....
Post by: johnjoux on March 07, 2012, 06:22:56 PM
Realised that how the annual calendar works... by the top square hour marker indicator... Haha...

I think when rolex made this move.. probably they want to make sure all that their rolexes is robust and functionally well than its design

Anyhow.. its still a ROLEX ..

Hi, its official on rolex.com. I like the sky dweller but its beyond me cos it comes in gold only.
Sub ceramic n new yatchmaster surely will dominate the watch shops. I like all the new models.
Rolex did it again! Congrats to them but bad for my pocket.
Title: Re: Rolex Sky Dweller....
Post by: takashi78 on March 07, 2012, 06:43:01 PM
Its normal for Rolex to release it in precious metal and then a year later in SS.

Speechless and dunno how to describe "UGLY"
Still prefer the 41mm DateJust 2.

i was expecting something fresh and yet subtle...

this looks like Mr Yatchmaster getting married to Ms Datejust...

oh wait...its the Yatchjust... ;D

well, at least they didn't reissue anything...

Thanks master takashi. I really like the skydweller from the video clips. If it comes in
S/s, it will be a hit, i think. I hope it wont be oversized for asians. Just have to wait till next
year.

i like it too.... cool way of using the bezel.

now just for future dial and colour variations that would suit my fancy. just wishing that they might come in S/S too in the future.

on the hindsight.. the new YM and Sub looks cool

now lets see if the preowned prices of our humble 14060 would rise like the 16610

looks like the 4 lined 14060M would be in production the least. so anyone rushing to buy the rehaut 14060M ?

So the 4 lines 14060M becomes the most short-lived sub huh?

It is the most short lived modern Submariner.

6204 1953-1955
6205 1953-1957 (some books 1953-1955)
6536 small crown 1955-1958
6538 large crown 1955-1958
6536-1 chronometer 1957-1961
6538 chronometer 1957-1961
5508 1958-1959 (some books 1958-1965)
5510 1958-1959 (some books 1958-1965)
5512 COSC 1959-1978 (some books 1959-1970)
5513 1962-1990 (some books 1962-1989)
14060 1989-1999
14060M 1999-2007 (aka 2 line)
14060M COSC 2007-2012 (aka 4 line)

The 14060M COSC is the only other COSC Submariner since the 5512. Its 5 years life span makes it the shortest lived modern Submariner, followed by the 14060M at 6 years.

The chart does not include the COMEX and military issued Submariners, reference 5514 and 5517.

should have just call it sky-master
sky-dweller not as sporty i expect , in my mind something in the breitling territory  ::)
unless is a rolex marketing strategy preparing for a sky-dweller 2   ::)
like a explorer 1 & 2
gmt master 2 kinda thing

when they use name dweller i was expecting a deep sea + gmt-master 2 =  well maybe
a deep sky dweller in 2013 :Laughing_on_floor:

Yes, this feature caught my attention too. Now Rolex finally has caught up with Grand Seiko.  ;D Anyway, we can b$@*& about this "Penduduk Langit" as much as we like, but if you go through the sites to check the price, I am sure it's going to cost a nuclear bomb. Hmmmm.......maybe I should settle for a watch with more features and cost less, like this.....

Not really, the 14060M it will go on for only about 50 hours (maximum) after you are dead and motionless. If it still goes on beating after that, then someone else (hopefully your rightful heir) is wearing it. I remember watching a documentary on Josef Mengele (that nut case Nazi doctor) who died in South America. His watch (not a rolex, but a seiko) is kept in some government / police archive  and it still runs.
