Hello everyone, I just discover this hang out place for all watch lovers in Malaysia!
As in the topic, my house got robbed two months ago, and I have been looking to get back my watch of the same make.
It was a wedding gift from my dad, it has a certain sentimental value. Alas, the police weren't able to recover anything even though there is some obvious thumb print collected.
But, if I can't get back my stolen watch, I guess I can make do with a watch of the same model.
So... fellow forum members, I'm seeking some help and advice on where to find a discontinued Omega 3513.50 watch. I tried timeseries, they had it, but was sold, so I guess I'll just have to be patient enough and wait for another one to come along...
In the mean time, any advice is welcome!
-
That's a bummer.......feel for you. Do check out the sales section, both merchants and members' preowned.
-
Sorry to hear about your predicament, and I do hope you'll find a worthy replacement.
Anyway, welcome to the forum!
-
Ouch.
Feel for you bro.
If you still have the paperwork on the watches, maybe you would like to make a report with the watch manufacturers.
The watch could end up with them for service and it might raise some flags if a report is made.
Good luck.
-
Thanks! Will be checking out on the sales sub-forum.
Good suggestion on reporting to watch manufacturer service center! I'll do that!
-
Sorry to hear that.. Hope u can get the same model soon..
-
I am sorry to hear this. My house was burglared before and my watch was taken amongst other items. Just like your case, nothing was recovered. I hope you will find a worthy replacement soon. Most importantly, please look for ways to secure your house.
-

-
Same to me too. My house got broke in too.
The police managed to catch the burglar after 1 month, according to the police, they sold the watch .....
-
Sorry for your loss bro.
Sadly, the occurence of break ins dont seem to be slowing down and on the other hand seem to be rising with each passing day!
Look around on the market and I'm pretty sure the model that you are looking for will pop up sooner or later!
-
Well said! I'm deeply sadden although not surprised, sigh... that so many of you that read this thread has experience break ins...
Really hope that one will come along not too long...
-
The more watches you got and the more expensive they are....
You will for sure more worries about this .....

Any suggestions on the counter measures?
Will you hide your Rolex diver watches in toilet bowl water tank?
Just like those people hiding their diamonds in fridge ice-cube container.

That gonna piss the robber if they found out
Small thief is good in digging every hole
They r professional
If can, find a house with good security
Or don't keep so many at home
Open a safe at bank
Buy insurance
N keep yr watch n purchase paper separately

I'm not sure about other brand
Never try
Good safe is
Thick

Can't be open by force
Most are above to mount on wall or on ground

Important is to mount/bolt your safe to the wall , another method which i did in my old house is to put cement/brick on side and top of the Safe that way will make it hard for em to carry away. reason i dint do it on my new house wife complain ugly :Laughing_on_floor:
-
That's painful mate.
Sorry for your lost.
I'll keep you in touch if I come across that discountinued Omega version. :o :Blue:

It is quite stressful to own an expensive watch nowadays. I always have to wear it or hide it.

Haha, good luck trying to sell my Lange if it gets stolen. I will hunt you down!!!! :Scolding: :police:
Btw, why on god's good earth would anyone not have certificates for their watches? I can understand not having the box cause you might want to avoid taxes. And some boxes are heavy. But certificates? Maybe people move house and lose it.
-
Responsibility of owners to maintain the paperwork. If not, it is fair for prospective buyers to insist professional verification at seller's cost.
-
sorry for your lost. After reading this, make me think a lot before buying a preowned watch. What if somebody pawn it to the shop then we accidentally bought it.
-
Chubb safe is reputable. Owned 3, one in shop; 2 at home. Shop was burgled once, burglar can't open it!
-
..... yet I keep most of the time pieces in bank's safe deposit box.

That's one of the reasons I buy preowned almost always with b&p.
-
Sad to hear this unfortunate incident..
-
Sorry for your bad experience. My place was been ransacked 10yrs back. Felt blardy violated too. Anyway good to have a heavy safe and alarm system for your home. I guess it will be good to avoid buying preown watch without proper papers to discourage those thieves easlily selling away their loots.
-
Sorry for your lost bro! In life sometime not everything we can control but what to do? Be more positive bro :(
-
same thing happened to my maurice lacroix month ago... sad
-
