I found this other watch i think is a great alternative to the Omega Planet Ocean, if you are looking for a diving watch.

Oris Regulatuer “Der Meistertaucher"

Only problem is this bad boy is 49mm big. For diving purposes i can understand the large size of the watch (for clarity under water), but i'm not sure if the 49mm size is suitable for daily beater purposes also.

Here is the earlier Carlos Coste chronograph limited edition.
47mm case, 20mm+ thick!
Nice enough orange lume accents that actually provide a decent glow in the dark.

I got this in 2008 when I first started collecting. I hardly wear it now and it spends most of it's time in the box. It's not the diameter of the casing that's troublesome to wear for everyday use (which is really 99% of the time); its the thickness. When a watch is nearly half an inch thick, you just start banging it against door frames, walls, desks etc. This is why I stopped wearing it and stopped buying Oris divers in general.

exactly. i do have one as well, bought in 2008.. it is so thick, that i keep on banging into things till the sapphire crystal gets scratched. :(

I agree the 49mm or 51mm Oris sizes are pretty big. I went to an AD to try on some. Whilst i won't say don't straight out buy them i believe you got to have the wrist size to pull them off. I've seen some on people whom matches them pretty good.

Anyway, my orange journey has brought me to purchase the Maurice Lacroix Pontos S dive watch in the end. I think the Orange Nato strap and hands is exactly what i wanted.

Thanks mate! I like the simplicity too. It's from Schaumburg, a small watchmaker in Germany. The full name is quite a mouthful.

Also all this belong in the same faimly of Seiko workhouse 7SXX movement.

Below are 2 of the NOS, i pick up some time back.

This one below from Bandung, Indonesia.

And this from one shop is KL.

Hope you all like it.

Some trivia for the day. Did you know that the color orange is used on dive watches because it is the most visible color underwater? So, orange watches are not purely an aesthetic exercise.  :)

OP, where did you read that the Monster is not suitable for diving?  This is surprising as all Seiko dive watches are compliant with ISO 6425, including pressure testing of every single watch.
