I always believe that if you buy the iconic piece, you wont have the urge to resell. For e.g: if I had bought the Ball EMII Hydrocarbon or Ball Aviator series, I would not have sold my Ball watch away. However, I went and bought an EMII Officer. Got tired of it after a while and it went off to a new home.

They ARE quality watches btw. You'd enjoy wearing them...just that selling them would not get u a fair price.

At your other post, you have already bought a very nice ball watch. Don't sell , save to buy another .

General assumption is nvr correct
I bought a engineer hydrocarbon classic 2 new, Wear 3 yrs and sell at 20% lower than buy in cost to pre owned shop... If that time we have Mwf, I can sell at no lost!!!

Now if u buy any ball hydrocarbon series new at gd discount, 2-3 yrs later u sell here likely u will loose 20%...

So relatively if u compare this to

Rolex gmt 2, explorer 1 & 2, sub, Daytona... Mayb Rolex retain better value
As for dssd, milgauss... Mayb close
Other Rolex like datejust, air king... Ball will b better
Bling bling Rolex.... No need to say

Other brand? U quote which particular model n compare with particular ball model n c!

So a ball first gen firemen 6 yrs ago if u buy at gd discount,
Now u sell with profit...

Absolutely NOT!!
Luv the design... I searched through alot other brands as well... Still, finally came back to this...
Juz dat if it has a good re-sale value, it would be an additional point...  :D

So far, this is the best design that fits my hand that I could afford...

Good to hear.
To me it just seems when people ask resale value before they buy it just seems they are not buying what they like but for the sake of selling only.

If one truly likes the watch, one does not even ask or think bout resale value.

Agree X 2 ! ahaha.. unless the watchmaker decease then maybe the value would go up..then again it also depends on many other factors.. I did however came across once where my tag increase quite a bit after my purchase

It sounds funny to me why would anyone think about the resale value of a watch before even buying it :) Shouldn't the decisions to buy the watch base solely on how much the watch suits or other attachments that you may have for the watch..?
Just my two cents..

This would sound kinda irrelevant but when we choose a girlfriend we choose one that we like to look at, can communicate well, can understand you, complement you and etc... i wonder if there is anyone out there who chooses based on which one would be easier to break-up even before they got together..LOL

This is just rubbish comparison, really. I am just bored. haha

Btw, i guess not many people aware that Ball is not owned by american now. It has been bought by a Hong Kong family sometime back. Basically, they are still doing a good job in marketing the great american history while using some china sourced parts, basic complete ETA ebauque and assembled them in Swiss.

Not sure If you come accross the news that Cecil Chau who is willing to pay 500 million to recruit son in law recently? His daughter is basically seeing the daughter of Ball's owners, Yeung family.  :Laughing_on_floor:

There are quite a number of Swiss brands have been bought and owned by chinese people now.
I am broke but I am happy...
