I have a avenger sea wolf and sky racer. Both are very well built. I like the built quality of breathing very much. Watch is self preference , there is no right or wrong. After all is your own money. You just have to justify your own satisfaction. Buy whatever you like but not other people like.

Fair point! For me the dials are too crowded and the watches are extremely large so I am personally not a fan. That said a few friends swear by them. I like the transoceanic day dates, much cheaper than it's Rolex alternate and very omega like in its design

Wow, a Breitling thread, finally!

The older Chronomat are smaller, at only 39.5mm, so do other older model like the Superocean, Navitimer, Colt, etc.

The over 44mm Breitling trend started about 12 years back and you will be surprised to see some smaller model Breitling still available in some shops (new or preowned).

Hi, STT1987, are you sure it is 47mm Chronomatt. I tried the 44mm Chronomatt GMT in Singapore before. Personally, I think it is quite a heavy watch, of course I tried the SS bracelet model. And I feel the case is a bit too thick for my liking.

If you owned one before, what is your opinion on this piece?

Just bought a Breitling Anti-Choc. Was still on the way from Italy. Cant wait to see her on Monday. Will post pic of our first meeting.

This is the 47mm Chronomat LE GMT version with the newer B02 movement.

My opinion? I spent $$$$ on it and still own it - of course I like it!
Big heavy chunk of metal, with a very busy and blingy dial which takes some getting use to. Breitlings are an acquired taste. I have a custom croc leather strap on it, reduces some weight compared to the metal bracelet.

Thanks! As with watches from the 60s, they are not big. This one is 36mm. My min size is usually 39mm but made an exception as I just love the choc!

Ya, just as I thought. Initially I quite like the grey dial with grey sub-dials, to reduce the blingy and busy looking effect. But the weight and thickness of the case made me think twice.

Among its bracelet and Rolex Oyster Bracelet, I prefer the oyster. So... Leaving the Chronomatt 44 GMT for my next round of consideration...

In my opinion, 36mm is just fine, if not perfect, especially it is a vintage. the size is the average in those days. In fact, I do find some of today's watches are too large in comparison.

If you have the time, do post some wrist shots, i'll be very grateful.

Yah, am willing to make some exceptions on the size for vintages... but only if I really like the watch. In terms of max size, think I am ok with 45mm.

I don't have particularly large wrist, so for me 42mm is about max. Ideal would be 38mm. My current everyday watch only fare 37mm.

Thanks mate! It looks nicer in person. And the soft Italian leather feels so good on the wrist.

I've always preferred bigger watches but after trying this and being pleasantly surprised by how nicely it fits my wrist, I am becoming more open to smaller sizes although not below 35mm.

I recently went to Mid Valley and had a chance to try on the Chronomat 44 GMT. It was an unintentional visit but I found the watch actually looked quite nice on the wrist.

It has the new Breitling manufacture movement b04. Yah I know, it is not a well perceived/talked-about brand. Some how I feel it could be a nice addition to my collection. I like watches that are tool-watch-like.

Any comments...

I saw a used steelfish for sale somewhere. Do you guys think it's a good buy. I'm not so sure if the watch is going to be too big for my 7 inch wrist. Help!
