Damasko DK 10 vs DK 11
« on: May 03, 2012, 06:46:19 AM »
I do not have the fund yet, but just checking with fellow MWF members, if given the option to pick only one, which will you go first?

Note: Price, Movement all the same except for obvious dial and bezel design...

Refer to photos posted by Mr. Danny in a different thread....

1.) Damasko DK10 with the new Damasko in-house manufactured movement A35-1.

2.) Damasko DK11 with the new Damasko in-house manufactured movement A35-1.

I went for the DK11 because:

i) I already have this one (DC66 Black).

i) So I wanted a white dial this time around.

ii) The lume on the white dial makes the difference for me:

Anybody know if we can ask the AD to change the bezel to the other type?
e.g. DK10 bezel placed on DK11

Not sure abt AD but i think buying damasko diretcly does give you the option what bezel to put.

Somehow, design wise... i feel that the red seconds hand and the Si on the dial looks better with white on the background.
That's just me.

IMHO i think the white dial looks cooler (can't think of other words now) :Laughing_on_floor:
but yeah~ white FTW ! the red contrast matches the white better, plus the white stitching on the strap is more visible too  ;D

I would prefer DK11 too but would prefer to maintain the 12 hour bezel because it's easier to track a second timezone with it.

Unless u dive or track minutes instead of hour, you can consider to maintain the bezel as it is for a change.

I prefer the Black Dial... just find the red Si word on the white dial feels out of place.

I was thinking of getting DK 10 black dial with hour bezel.... but looking at Danny's wrist/lume shots.... now tilting towards DK 11 with its standard hour bezel..

I believe you get to choose between hour or minutes rotatable bezel.
I would get the hour bezel as well. More practical for use.

i believe the price of these 2 watch is much higher compare to other 3-hand damasko as it is using bits of silicon and in house movement.

Yes, these 2 pieces with the manufacture caliber A35 command a premium compared to regular Damasko models with ETA engines. Yet Damasko's asking price is a relative bargain considering the technology that go into the new movement and the kind of prices that the Swiss brands are now asking for their in-house movements.

Yes.. with in-house movement A35

and Silicon Escapement(Si) technology(used by Patek?)

Another option is to go for cheaper DK15 which only available next July/August minus the Si...
