Tudor normally uses the ETA 2824-2T movement from ETA, which indicate that it is a 'Top' grade movement. The photograph confirms that the movement is either 'Top' or 'Chronometer' movement.
Great
And thank god that's no superlative chronometer officially certified on the dial  :Laughing_on_floor:

Have not seen a Tudor with COSC before. Don't think there will be any soon.

Although no cosc, but my experience with the 33 year old 94110 is that it runs within chronometer specs... actually, it's around the same as my 14060.

I dunno how reliable is the news but some blogs and sites have listed the Pelagos at usd4400 retail and the Black Bay at usd3200... for the leather strap combo.
Quite a difference for 300m extra water resistance and titanium case and bracelet.

I visited my local Rolex uncle and he told me even if Tudor uses ETA movements, they are of the highest grade, decorated and some minor mods... mostly on high wear parts.
According to him, Tudor does not use the standard parts (high wear ones), they make their own.
Reliable info? Take it with a pinch of salt I guess.

Locally, no word on prices and availability date yet though.

The Pelagos was on my 2013 wishlist created end-2012, though at the very bottom.
I had forgotten all abt it as my targets had changed over the last few months given the new release of SIHH 2013.

As fate would have it, I had lunch with a friend today and was offered a brand new Pelagos at a price which I found hard to resist.

So here is my 5th acquisition for 2013, the earlier 4 not on my original list either......

Although there are a lot of articles on the Pelagos, these are not bad..

One of the things that attracted me to the Pelagos is the injected ceramic bezel with Chromabrite lume in blue. This pic was taken last night and the lume is very lasting.
Pic is grainy as its taken with iphone in total darkness.
Its a back to basics affordable tool watch with all the technically sound credentials and no fluff to dazzle, something like a Swiss version of the Seiko Marinemaster MM300

Still tempted by the Pelagos. Still waiting for a pre-owned one.

Thanks Alvin.
If I'm not wrong quite a few mwf members were keen on the Pelagos, just waiting for a good discount instead of the ridiculous full RRP price quoted by the Rolex Centres.
I'm just lucky that a friend that I got a watch from recently, brought a piece back from his Europe trip
See u soon.
Congrats Jos, ur dream came thru. Looks good on u

Its definitely not below 10K but its the cheapest so far.

I've been looking for a pre-owned too but being still a hot piece, even used ones go for almost 85-90% of new nett price so I may as well buy new.
Still tempted by the Pelagos. Still waiting for a pre-owned one.

The Tudor looks fantastic on your wrist.

david,
you can afford to buy both..
this or new chrono in blue, cant decide...   :Blue:

thanks danny..
the brushed titanium is well executed with a very comfortable variable folding clasp... a handsome daily tool watch to be used without worry or too much care unlike my other prima donna complications.
running out of steam and cash....
Congrats Joe.

thanks but its too grainy and not sharply defined enough as unfortunately hand held and using iphone.
will try another time on tripod and using a higher iso capable cam for a real proper shot
Killer lume shot

might be a long wait.
i'm sure u can afford a new one...

Now that I've fondled G.MAC's former BB, I'm extremely convinced that there has to be a Tudor on my wrist. The Pelagos appears to be the one.
