Watch repairer for 'cheaper' watches
« on: July 18, 2011, 12:10:17 PM »
Hello,

Need some assistant from fellow WIS, I recently dropped my seagull and the watch died on me. I wish to get it repaired but the 2 shops (in Summit) I approched so far turned me away. They mentioned that the watch is equalvent to imitation watch and was meant to 'throw away if rosak'. I told him that a seagull tourbillon is selling in excess of RM50k & he told me that china does not have the expertise to produce 'real mechanical' watches  ??? citing analogy btw Chery cars vs. Continental cars

1 shop went as far as saying that watches made in china, russia and germany (eastern) are not worth buying.

I find it hard to believe that only swiss watches can be repaired and watches below RM5k are meant to be 'disposable'

Can any sifu pm me a friendly watch repairer willing to look at a 'cheap' watch?

Seagull is a very well known trademark in Chinese herbal medicines. How is the quality of its mechanical watch like? Astonished to hear that its tourby cost <50K, seriously? :o

No wonder the watch konk after 1 knock  :HammerHead:
