My Steinhart Ocean 2 got scratch marks on its hour and minute hands. I decided to live with them because its cost is less than MYR1.4k. Not worthwhile to fork out the postage amount that is almost 10% of its price back to its HQ office for part replacement.

Hi, I got a Steinhart Ocean 1 GMT from them, the GMT Hand was not fully aligned to the hour, I lived with the defect for 1.5 years without any problem, as the GMT function is not being used as much as the time and date. Coming to the end of the 2 years warranty period, when I thought of the probable future resale, it may take a hit on the value, so I decided to write to Steinhart and also attached a few photos of the flaw, to see what they would do. Very quickly within a few days, they replied to me and admitted their fault, and asked me to send it back to them for the realignment, I asked the same question about the shipment cost, surprisingly the shipment was borned by them, shipped by Fedex. I sent the watch without strap, in bubble wrap and into the Fedex box, mentioned about the shipment address and code given by Steinhart, the same was shipped out without much issue. It came back to me on the door step again after approx 3 weeks, in another full size watch box! All good now! Without a cent spent on the shipment except the journey to Fedex office to drop the watch.

Kudos to Steinhart! Later I bought the Pepsi bezel to swap out the ceramic black bezel, it's an eye lolly, definitely a keeper! Running at +6 sec per day... Resale value? What? Nah...thanks... ;-)
