Fast-forward to 2026, and the challenges of the past have largely been resolved; swapping watch straps is now effortless, as watches come equipped with quick-release mechanisms. Aftermarket manufacturers began introducing push-button quick-release systems over a decade ago, making it incredibly convenient to buy and use such straps—so much so that, back then, spotting a strap with this feature was a sure sign it was an aftermarket product. Remarkably, however, a decade later, many major watch brands are now producing watches that feature the very same quick-release push-button systems once pioneered by the aftermarket sector.
