Need advise on IWC
« on: February 10, 2011, 01:45:22 PM »
Hi guys,

I am new here but have been following the thread on and off. Have finally decided to buy my first IWC watch which is either the Portuguese Chronograph or Pilot Chronograph. Have seen them before last year and have finally saved up enough.

I already know who the ADs are, therefore I would like to ask some advise which ADs have the better discount or better yet, if any of you members have purchased one lately so I can use it as a reference. Please PM me. Thanks.

Am looking at:
1. 5445-01 Portuguese Hand Wound (Vintage collection)
2. 5448-05 Portofino Hand Wound (Vintage collection)
3. 5001-07 Portuguese Automatic 7 days

I know the dials are different colour, but this is what i like in each category.
Any advice / comments from MWF bros out there?

Also, i've seen the vintage portuguese hand wound in the IWC store, but haven't really seen it else where.
Would appreciate if can PM me a good shop with good variety for me to try before I buy and got good service (and also discount :) )

if you really like it, save up and wait till you can afford the piece that you really want rather than settle for something else now... :)

haha .. super poison !!

but i think it is about 3x the price
and i would be happier with 5001 in the hand
than have to wait till dunno when for the 5448 in the bush.

thx for suggestion tho.

but you said not syiok ma...that not syiok feeling will linger even after you've bought the other one...by the way, have you tried all of them on your wrist? sometimes, the one you thought is the best on paper/internet might not look the best on your wrist

Agree with you on trying though.
Saw some nice azimuths online and in catalog but the shop didn't have actual ones, so i'm not going to order it without trying it on right ...

a bit of chicken and egg... what to do?

Hi guys, wow seems like the interest in IWC is quite high. The salesperson selling us the watch should be very happy!

LOL, that particular boutique doesnt attend to ppl that are wearing shorts and Polo Ts. Attitude changed after they noticed something was striking from your wrist. Sigh ...

p/s : my personal experience when I was visiting Malaysia last year.

Sometime is really depend on the sales person, just visit the boutique few week ago wearing shorts and T plus a normal seiko, very good service they give and get a catalogue without me asking it... if all the AD i ask give same discount then will go back and buy from the SA who serve me...
