It's been close to a year since I got this watch and I still love it to bits. Not many seen in the wild and with lug holes, a breeze to have strap changes. My watch was bought originally with a steel bracelet and I changed it immediately to a nato strap. Never was it worn on steel.

After a while, I got the itch to change the strap again and this time I went the more expensive route and bought the original seiko silicon strap for the tuna. The silicon strap is so comfortable and just so different.

In terms of wearability, I would rate the nato above all else. As you can see in the above photo, I have all three "iconic" Seiko divers, the MM300 and the SKX007 to pair with my turtle. I have them on steel bracelets, I have switched them around with rubber, nato and even a distressed vintage leather. The bracelet on the 007 was ordered from yobokies. All three feels better with a Nato.
Back to the turtle. I picked this model over the rest because of the red/black bezel paired with the red minute hand. I have yet to see any in the wild with this combo. I am sure that there are others out there. It's not like it is a special, super low production rate watch. But there is something in the matte dial paired with the lume plots and case which makes this such a special watch. I would only wish that the watch was a teeny bit smaller as I do have tiny six and a half inch wrists. It would be perfect at 39mm. It is a rugged watch, a watch with a hellava wrist presence and something that you do get very self conscious of. To those out there who is thinking of getting a seiko turtle, go get it, but get it on the rubber strap. The steel bracelet is not very comfortable and the diver extension kinda digs into your skin. It really isn't a watch for everyone, but if you do get it, it is a wonderful watch and only a true seiko aficionado would appreciate.
