Cheap hack for people with loads of solar powered watches
« on: May 11, 2017, 05:33:28 PM »
Problem Statement:
1.  You have a lot of solar powered watches
2.  You don't wear them all the time
3.  You don't want to leave them on dressing tables especially when you are off for work - you prefer to keep them locked up (better safe then sorry)
4. You are not keen to sun them once in a while for a few hours as it would mean they get bombarded by harmful UV rays as well
5. Solution?

Lamp in a drawer! A simple hack that fulfil all the above requirements.

Make sure lamp is not the incandescent type (you want light, not heat). Best to also have the inside of the drawer painted white to reflect light.

Switch it on.

Lock it up safely and before you know it, the watches will be topped up.

How long does it takes for you to charge them up usually?

A couple of 8 hour shifts should do the trick

These watches once charged will last very long, so i would just put it on my car dashboard when i drive and with our type of weather, these watches will be charged in no time. Just dont forget to take it out once parked!
