Question about 14060
« on: January 12, 2016, 11:01:26 PM »
Hello fellow members. My parents gave me this rolex 14060 and i'm wondering whether is it genuine or not. Based on the photos ive attached below (excluding the movement), can u really conclude whether is it original or not? Btw, i have the cert and the serial number on the cert matches the serial number on the watch.

Congrats and lucky you!

I don't have a similar watch to cross check but it looks good to me from the photos. Rubber on crown seems correct for Triplock. Wordings and spacing seems fine.

Maybe other sifus can chime in.

Congrats!

Could you give us some history about the watch, how did you parents come about getting it.  Is it your dad's own watch?

Its been in dad's safebox for quite some time. Maybe he thinks that i  need a major upgrade since my previous watch was Luminox. He also gave me my grandfather's 6694.

History about the watch...erm...he bought it in singapore 20 years ago. Its a W series watch.

Get it authenticated at RSC for piece of mind. I would unless I can confirm the history of the piece.

Amazing piece! The two-liner tritium dials 14060 models are the most set up to be vintage rolexes very quickly. I guess your dad didn't wear it much hence it wasn't exposed to too much UV light. If he wore it more consistently over the 20yrs, it would've developed a really nice vanilla-ish patina on the tritium!!

Congratulations!
