Hybrid mechanical smartwatch - KAIROS
« on: August 28, 2014, 10:03:52 PM »
This company claims to have a mechanical-digital watch. I am wondering if anyone has actually seen one in person, current info is kind of vague/suspicious, no real demo to be found.. But I am keen to hear more.

The concept is not new. I am one of the early backers of the Hyetis Crossbow. One year delay from the promised delivery date and still nothing to show for it. Now I no longer even want the watch, because technology moves on.

There lies the ultimate dilemma of a hybrid. How do you reconcile a technology that can become obsolete with the timeless nature of a mechanical watch?

My piece of advice? Buy a smartwatch because its nice, works with your phone etc.. and keep mechanical watches separate.

Fong
