BR03 => Steel vs Two Tone vs PVD ss Ceramic
« on: June 23, 2014, 10:41:19 PM »

Last week was lucky enough to get to play with some prototype watches from Bell & Ross at MWF home.
above photo shown the 4 different cases of BR03, the Bell & Ross iconic 42mm cockpit instrument inspired watch.

STEEL
was the very first design, the whole world was actually stunned with this Bell & Ross in 2005
when they launched the unconventional square watch inspired by the cockpit instrument
today, its become one of the most recognized watch brand DNA as well.

PVD
for legibility, B&R rolled out the 'carbon' version, which is black pvd case matching with photo-luminescent painted dial marker and hands. In Fact the Black BR01 & BR03 is pushing the BR DNA to max.
today there are so many brands copying the concept/design from this BR watches.
Black PVD Case and Dial with White lume to ORange to Blue to Yellow to...
(above is the prototype of BR03-94 carbon orange will be available in Msia laster this year)

TWO TONE
follow by the Golden Generation launched last year, this year we see this Two Tone case for BR03.
in fact i was surprised, nvr thought the BR03 can be good with Gold Element on it last yr, holding this 'prototype' two tone BR, i now was thinking i shd reconsider my plan to get a simple golden generation 3  hands BR03 or this
i do suggest you guys to try this at BR boutique, you may love it like me.

Ceramic
we have seen the green and blue matt ceramic last 2 yrs, as well as the glossy ceramic on small BRs as well as BR01...
is BR save the best for last? finally this yr we seen this matt black ceramic phasing out all the black PVD BR03.
i knew many collector here do not mind the scratches on their watch case, how ever many ppl still prefer the non scratch watch... so do i. With ard 10% increase in price, i find this is a good move from BR

Matt Black PVD vs Matt Ceramic
i found the pvd in fact more black than the ceramic
pvd more glossy than the matt ceramic
hence, putting it side by side, i would think the Black Matt PVD Case is more attractive aesthetically
however, comparing to a much higher scratch resistant case,
my brain go for the ceramic vs my heart go for the PVD

Steel vs Two Tone
if i ever go for a different kind of BR, most probably i will go for the two tone / golden heritage BR03-92 Golden Heritage

so which one do you like
Steel, PVD, Matt Ceramic or Two Tone...

I like the PVD as "big" watch comes with PVD makes it smaller to me.

are all these pieces still being showcase at mwf shop?

if yes, it would be timely for b&r gtg... might drop by when my HM is out of town  :Laughing_on_floor: :Laughing_on_floor: :Laughing_on_floor:
