Changing Nato straps just for fashion look? No way....
« on: August 28, 2013, 07:36:44 AM »
My cousin went for a dive in the sea in Hawaii and when he came up look what happened  :o

After seeing this, i keep thinking, watches are heavy and some very, BUT i dont see many brands using tougher or bigger springbars to make sure this does not happen often.
Makes me happy that my Speake-Marin watch doesnt have a "spring" bar. Just a very nice "bar" tighten by 2 screws.

Actually using NATO straps (Zulu even) may not be the best idea if you watch has the normal spring-bars. This is because the edge of the spring-bars can actually get caught by the edge of the NATO strap and work itself out of the hole. NATO straps were originally designed for watches with fixed bars or those watches with lug holes and the spring bars sits flush between the lugs. So be careful when you use NATO and ZULU straps on normal watches.
