I will go for the standard Snowflake.  Not really a big fan of the gold accents of the 59.  I much prefer the flamed blue second hand on the Snowflake.  However, if you like the looks of the gold accents, go for the 59 as it is a limited edition and more difficult to come by as compared to the standard Snowflake.

The SBGA 059 is not a limited edition. It is a master shop model with limited production, but it is a regular model. I went through the same process and ended up with the SBGA 059 after seeing it in person. The gold accents give it a unique take on the generally monochromatic Grand Seikos. You really need to see both pieces in person to decide which you prefer.

Fong

I"ve seen, inspect & even try the watch. The side by side picture above is actually the real watches themselves. Usually i'm not into this "gold" thing but for these 2 watches the 059 dial seems to look "whiter" than the snow flake..Still I can't decide even after I did all the above!! Hehehe

Gold hand has a alluring aura, work best in a back or dark brown background like in some Panerai models. But blue hand snowflake is perfect combination.

Not familiar with the models but I'm sucker for blue hands and I think it actually looks better.

As far as I know, both dials are identical. But somehow the gold index makes the snowflake dial more white. I can't explain it. Maybe it is an optical illusion. That's what made me decide on the "gold" snowflake.

Yes Fong, thats what i'm talking about. So it is really the "gold" snow flake has a "whiter" dial compare to the "blue" snow flake!! I thought for some unknown reason only both watch that i view only were difference but since u said it looks like the 059 dial is slightly "whiter" than the 011 even though both are supposedly have "snow flake" dial..

I think it's the optical effect of the gold or silver markers. Gold being more "warm" and Silver "cold". Anyways both solid watches. You won't be disappointed in either.

Fong
