Putting Back on Sale.

Warranty is valid till June 2013.

This is not a fire sale, hence those looking for super cheap bargains should look elsewhere.
The offer is made to admirers of Seiko's proprietory ground breaking hi-tech Spring Drive (SD) movement with true GMT function (date will move forwards/backwards according to hour hand which is advanced or retarded in 1 hour intervals) plus 72 hours power reserve on 1 single barrel but are unable to acquire one as this watch is not available anywhere in Malaysia. It can only be bought at selected Grand Seiko dealers in Taiwan, Hong Kong and only recently US & Europe.

Please note that SD movement models cost double that of Ananta automatic movement models. This applies for both Grand Seiko/Galante/Ananta/Prospex range. Seiko does not use SD movements in the lower ranges like Phoenix, Brightz, SARB, Seiko 5

Right now the hierarchy of movements ranked in Grand Seiko/Galante/Ananta/Prospex are as follows, from most expensive to least expensive :
i) Hi Beat 36,000 vph
ii) Spring Drive (very close to 36,000 vph pricing)
iii) normal beat 28,800 vph automatic hacking,windable 6R, 4R
iv) 28,800 vph automatic non-hacking, non-windable (mostly Seiko 5s) 7S

The SD is highly rated by Grand Seiko for its accuracy, reliablility which is not affected by shock & temperature change. As such it is used in both their Credor Minute Repeater & Sonnerie which costs >USD 250,000.00 and Galante range which start at USD 7,000

I am putting this Ananta SD up for offer as this Ananta SD GMT has been replaced by another SD GMT/Chrono, the Grand Seiko SD SBGC003 which costs > double this Ananta as the SD technology has proven itself.

Condition is tip top MINT.
This Cal. 5R66 is the exact same 9R Calibre as in the Grand Seiko SD GMT and also a Stainless Steel Seiko Galante which costs USD 7,000 except for different finishing.

Accuracy is +1 sec a week !!
Fully wound the watch runs for 72 hours i.e. 3 full days !!

Finishing is absolutely perfect. I will lend you a 20x loupe to inspect the watch and display back.
The solid steel 2 part case is milled from a solid block of steel and hand polished using Zaratsu techniques. The back of the case is concave, curved to contour your wrist perfectly (Visualise the Richard Mille case backs) Absolutely comfortable to wear without the watch shifting around.
The watch is hand assembled by Seiko's top master watchmakers.

Please google and view the official Seiko videos on how an Ananta is made and you'll appreciate the skill and high tech that goes into the making of this watch.
You can start with this:

Interested parties should surf the net for the selling price of this watch overseas and at the same time take notice of the scarcity of this model. Although this is a fairly difficult model to acquire, I am not pricing in any premium, in fact I am now taking a loss inspite of its MINT condition and scarcity.

Serious aficionados of SD and those looking for the most accurate mechanical movement in existence (only thermo-compensated quartz watches like Citizen Chronomaster/GS Quartz of 5 secs/year are more accurate) will be interested.

I'm in no hurry to sell so will leave this For Sale thread up for awhile.
