Actually I have nothing against Valjoux movement. I just prefer the simple portugieser that's all.

portuguese is always very beautiful dress watch. I am certain that this is one watch which we can pass it to our son

I guess this will be a point of contention between the two camps as it has been for a long while now. Personally, I prefer watches that are smaller, the sweet spot for me being between 38-40mm. Anything larger just becomes uncomfortable on my smallish wrist. There are some watches though that are built to fit the wrist (Franck Muller being an example) that it can be comfortable even though large. What I do not like are small movements in large cases, especially when it's made obvious by date complications that are placed deep into the dial. The newest iteration of the IWC Pilot is such an example. It just doesn't impress.

There would be the camp that feels that bigger is better. At the end of the day, it comes down to personal preference and what works best for the owner. The passion for watches is inherently between the wearer and the watch, size not withstanding.

i just read in esquire watch edition where they had an interview with Patek Philippe president and asked him on his views on large watches. and the magazine claimed he said that he is still convinced and is very sure that the the big watches trend is done by the marketing department of companies whom dont have the craftsmanship or skill to build their movements and complictions into small time pieces ... zing! ouch

this is not necessarily my view  just sharing what i read in the magazine
