Anyone with knowledge can please educate me?

1) Difference between 14060m and 14060.
2) What do you think is a fair price for both models in the secondary market? And if you have been tracking prices do you know how much the impact of the fall in RM had on these models?
3) Any other interesting points to add?
4) Any pitfalls for this models?
5) if you had to pick one which one will you get?

Comments will be much appreciated.

1) the "M" denotes a modified movement. The 14060 and the 14060M are essentially twins. The 14060M has a movement that has been modified with a full balance bridge and larger balance wheel, calibre 3000 vs 3130, hence the "M" for modified.

2) not sure of the price though, but I expect them to be around the 15K mark. Maybe more...

3) there are two dial versions to the 14060M. A two liner which was pre COSC and a four liner which denotes COSC certification. Some purists says that the reason why they went for the 14060 was for the "clean" look. So the pre COSC two liner would be their choice. If you can find a 14060M two liner, that would be great.

4) classic sub, can't go wrong here. The only "pitfall" or gripe that I would have is the lack of a glide lock or easy link of a modern oyster bracelet.

5) easy...I would pick the 14060M 2 liner.

To the other sifus out there, please do correct me if the information provided is inadequate or incorrect.

my all time favor model, had the ceramic version before find it too modern so i turned back to 14060m, i still prefer a 4 liner because its easier for me to identify authentication as i bought it second hand, few spot like rolex logo on the glass, serial number and stuff. with COSC it works like charm even till today is only +1 per day

2 liner are nice but have to be more careful on the parts might being changed or so for preown piece

mine was the very last version before 114060, i'm not a bracelet guy so leather strap all the time

Another vote for 14060M 2 liner.

Pros:
- timeless design, clean dial
- relatively cheap Rolex entry level sports watch
- when ppl ask is it real? I would say it is fake as there's no date.

Cons:
- cheapo bracelet

Saw a 14060 came up for a good price. Had to pass on it now prefer the 14060M after learning about it.

Btw the 14060 was snapped up very fast due to the good entry price at circa 16k ringgit.

My friends and I went check out the Rolex prices at AD about 2 weeks back. It is absolutely crazy and very prohibitive. Even the grey dealers are selling very expensive due to the exchange rates. Well a fair price is really subjective.

I would get pre-owned but only from sellers/shops that can be trusted. Get the verification at RSC if you need assurance. I don't know if the shops can provide some buy-back guarantee but I was assured from mine if it wasn't original I can return it for full refund. Eventually I didn't get mine verified because all documents were there and absolutely no signs of it being a fake.

My experience with grey was an old experience a couple of years back for Rolex Explorer II.

14060M used between 18k to 22k (depending on year - 2 liner is older and 4 liner is newer). 114060 used between 23k to 25k (depending on year). 114060 new at AD RM27k (MRSP) to RM30k (premium). Grey dealers selling BNIB are same as AD prices. I got a 114060 for MRSP RM27k at AD (last and only piece, at that time, 2 months ago).

If you look at many pics from watch forums, those who get the 14060M usually comes with the tuna tin clasp and old style bracelet, thats why you see many pics of 14060M with nato or rubber or leather straps (those owners don't even like their SS bracelets). IMHO, a Rolex Sub should be worn with SS bracelet, and hence you can only settle for later years (2008 and newer) Submariner with Date which got the Solid End Links or even solid center links? bracelets. And I prefer my Subs with no holes on the lugs.

So my final decision if I want a Sub No Date with solid bracelets and no lug holes is to get the 114060 Submariner Ceramic.
