Sinn U1 Date Change
« on: July 27, 2011, 08:17:04 PM »
Hi,

Any of you U1 owners notice when does the date change on your watch? Mine is at 12.04! Is that normal?

If I could remember correctly, it was around 12 sharp when I first got it.

FYI, i don't really bother to set the second when to 12 when adjusting the time on my watch. Could that be reason for the date change inaccuracy?

most watches dun change date exactly 12am. It is either a few mins before or after. The closest I know is Rolex which is about a min before midnight. but that is not certain some units you get may change 5mins after midnight.

Nothing to worry about, its mechanical.
Some even start at +-15mins before 12.
As long as it does change and the date wheel is aligned right, nothing to worry about.

To prevent all the above and synchronize for a better date change, it good to know that – always set your time to 6 o’ clock when you are rapidly setting the quick set date.

I am almost a recovered watchaholic, but last checked shows only 70% recovered. How?

Because the date changing mechanism is engaged at that moment. So is advisable not to change date during that period in order to prevent damage to the movment.
